    Does anyone have any ideas on the cheapest way to convert 2x $250 mastercards to a single $500 card. I am looking to purchase something on ebay over $250 and can't use giftcards as its an excluded category (currency).

      I think the cheapest way would be to go to an Australia Post Shop or LPO and ask to purchase an Australia Post Gift Card with $500 loaded on it.

      Keep in mind the following:

      • The purchase fee is $5.95, so factor that into any calculations you make.

      • I have no idea whether you can currently do split payments when purchasing gift cards at Australia Post, because some merchants (e.g. Kmart) make it impossible to do split payments when purchasing gift cards. Additionally, when I did a split payment at Australia Post couple of years ago, the staff member was not sure how to do it, so they had to call their manager over and the two of them took a couple of minutes to figure out how to do it.

      • You may be stopped if the staff member realises you are trying to use a prepaid gift card as a payment method and they do not like it. Some staff have been trained to not let customers use prepaid gift cards as a payment method, whereas other staff don’t care. The EFTPOS terminals used at all the Australia Post outlets I have visited recently make it extremely difficult to be stealthy with swiping a card on the magstripe reader, as you need to have the front of the card facing up towards the ceiling, which means that both you and the staff member can easily see the type of card being used. It also does not help that the front of a $250 Coles Mastercard gift card is bright yellow…

      I've remembered what the paper in store to telling that if you have a physical stripe card with barcode, or the barcode in the Flybuys app, you have a registered account. If the barcode on a paper picked up from the store were a temporary card and those are not eligible for this discount.

    Some of my cards when I checked on the balance website it says "A system error has occurred. Please try again later" I tried a day after it seems the same. Any idea why?

      If the card was activated in the receipt, that means the card is blocked by the issuer. It happened to one of my card when I tried to link to Paypal. Just call them and wait for 30mins, they will unblock it.

                @mungicide: This happened to 10 of my cards. On the phone with customer care and they said the cards have been compromised and they need to send out replacement cards within 30 days smh

                    @forrester: Bought on 8, 9, 10, 11 April from four different Coles in WA. All the $250 cards aren't working. Out of the $100s, 12 out of 15 are working.

                      @Shien87: Sorry to hear. You are unlucky to have so many compromised in a short time. It appears that these cards should be used within 24 hours of purchase as the hackers are quick. There could be more people affected but haven't checked. Hope you receive the replacements soon.

      Enforced by flybuys card. I had a card not activated on receipt, when the staff went to switch with another gift card it was showing full price.
