    Do these actually work?

    • +2

It works, but the one I've got leaks a lot! The steam head broke after I dropped it and now it gets very hot!

      Wouldn't recommend it.

    • It makes steam. But does it iron your cloths? NO. I got this exact model and it just made your cloths hot and moist. All creases still present. Didn't matter how long you took or what you did. I searched on YT for tutorials on how to use it but nothing worked. In the end I sold it on gumtree for a loss.

Its not a iron. These are just for touch ups and lighter fabrics, not for hard creases. Its a balance of speed vs result, good for the lazy. You hang the shirt on door, run it over a couple times, get rid of the worst of it.

Ok, except it wont do anything to your shirt hanging on the door. Regardless of how many runs you do. The shirt will be as if it came out of the washing machine and you hung it on the door to dry. This device literally does nothing to shirts or pants. Maybe on lighter fabrics like a dress or blouse or something, but I dont own anything like this yet… maybe when I decide to transition to win bench press competitions.

@Stivo: Do you actually know how to use it?

        • Old-school irons are a right pain in the butt, especially when it comes to storing the stand. But for lazy buggers, this steamer is the bee's knees. It might not give you the same crisp finish as a traditional iron, but it definitely does the job and is heaps easier to use. No more messing around with stands and cords. highly recommend!

  • Unavailable on Amazon :(

    • Still available.

  • I'm struggling to find what the participating stores for cashback are. Ts & Cs say:

    5. To submit a Cash Back Offer (“Claim”), the Claimant must:
    a) Purchase an Eligible Philips Product(s) (as set out in Clause 16) from
any participating Australian retail store during the Promotional
Period and follow the steps below. Trade seconds products are
excluded. Please note that Target, Costco and JB Hi-Fi Airport
Stores are not participating retail stores for this Promotion.

But they don't list the the actual stores!

    • Just called up and can confirm Amazon is eligible

    • Full list of participating retailers can be found on their Redemption Form under the 'Retailer Name' dropdown menu

      Reviews aren’t great lol

    • Had one and it sucked. Did nothing to actually iron out creases. I went back to using an iron. Dont waste your money on this thing.

  • Is this good for car seats?

  • FYI things a gimmick get portable one for trips etc. But for home just use a normal iron ffs

  • Is this just an ironer or a steam cleaner?

  • For $51 it's worth it for me. Just bought and claim approved. Thanks OP

    • You can claim even before the item actually arrives?

    • Do you able to claim without invoice? Seems like amazon issue invoice only after item being sent.

  • I think the item is gone now..

      $50 cashback too

  • I bought this from kmart and it actually works
    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/garment-steamer-42393009/?s…

  • Have tried one very similar or maybe identical and all it did was splash white drips all over the floor and the clothes. Took it into the bathroom and rinsed it out over and over, let it run for ages, kept rinsing, still couldn’t get it to stop sputtering white spots all over the place. Haven’t used it since.

  • Darn been looking for one of these, anywhere else got them for close to the price?

  • Wife uses this, its great for certain clothing.
Dont expect your pants to come out perfectly pleated like an iron would.

I think it works great on non-thick cotton shirts or more thinner clothing it doesn't replace an iron that's for sure.

You will notice these are very popular in women clothing stores with dresses etc.
