30% off Selected Mearth Electric Scooters @ Harvey Norman

130
EXTRA30

After the announcement that Escooters will be allowed in Victoria from the 5th of April I started shopping around for a decent price and Harvey Norman ended up having a good discount on Mearth EScooters right now. Many Mearth Escooters are now 30% off with the code EXTRA30

I do not know the quality of the product so I can't vouch for it but there seem to be a few positive reviews of the brand but since there are likely a few people looking at the moment I though I should share.

oooo, L plater. Chuck the price in the title!

    Code extra30 takes 30% off.

You're linking to GTS Max Premium Scooter for $2499, minus the 30% off, so down to $1750.

    Cheers mate.

    70kph top speed!!

    • At least half the scooter riders I see don't have a helmet on. Good luck to them I say.

Absolutely dogshit customer service with Mearth. I got one of their GTS models, battery capacity dropped like 70% in 14 months, I messaged them and they basically told me too bad, battery warranty is 12 months, and offered to sell me a new one for $1200

Good feedback man .. was tempted to buy but after reading the reviews, I’m going to pass. You should show their customer service this feedback.

Yeah seems like there's a few horror stories in the various escooter forums.

People thinking it might be a few guys basically drop shipping them hence the awful support.

Check reviews before you buy, much worse than others…

  • Have a read here especially last few comments. I hope things have changed since then. I went to their website one night and that was posted who knows if it's true or not but it put me off buying. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/722297

  • I have an issue with buying anything from Hardly Normal….

Good news for Victorians, as of 5th April 2023 Victoria's electric scooter laws have gone from this 10kph maximum speed, maximum motor size 200W to this, max speed 20kph and any scooter as long as it's locked to a maximum of 25kph. This comes along with the usual caveats, must wear helmet, obey laws, no dinking no drinking, no chatting on your mobile, at least 16YO, and most importantly don't tether an animal to the e-scooter!!! Basically, don't be a (profanity)!! As the article states this is a trial, but once they allow people to buy these scooters and use them legally it's pretty difficult to ban them again.

Just to add to my previous comment I've noticed many OzBers stating that they know someone who got fined $900 or $1,800 etc for riding a scooter.
While there are very isolated incidences of this (in Victoria) the overwhelming majority of people fined for using electric scooters are for basically being idiots.
According to a research reported by The Herald Sun February 4, 2023Between 1 December 2021 and 31 December 2022, police issued 865 e-scooter infringements. The bulk of those are made up by failure to wear a helmet (219), riding on the footpath (294) and carrying more than one person on-board (143). So about 3/4 of the fines were for, not wearing a helmet, riding on a footpath or having 2 people on board (dinking). A further 61 people were under 18 (new trial laws will be under 16). So if you can manage to ride your scooter with a helmet, while staying on the road without a passenger and (as of 5/4/23) and are at least 16 years old then you will avoid 80% of all fines issued in Victoria. BTW all these fines are under $300 each. The remainder of the fines were mainly for disobeying road laws (going through red lights, speeding, dangerous riding) or riding a scooter while inoxicated or drugs. Basically there's been virtually no Victorians that have been fined over the last year for just riding an electric scooter while not committing any other traffic offense. I have noticed this myself over the last 3 years of scooter commuting, not once have the police even blinked while I'm riding my scooter. So to those Victorians that want to buy a scooter and ride safely and respect the local laws now is the perfect time to go buy a scooter.
