    All the best to you.

  • +1

Great, $0.95 cheaper than Violet edition

    • +1

I mean I grabbed one of the violet versions for 360 so this is a bit more :D

  • +12

I doubt these will go out of stock before it releases.

Best to wait a few months after release for the price to drop (just like the Pokemon SV and Splatoon 3 Edition OLED Switch)

    • +19

      It's Zelda, good luck

    • +2

Can always cancel the preorder before release if that's the case.

    • +2

Correct. If they were rare they’d be out of stock already. They’ll highly likely produce more than the Splatoon one and that lasted a few months.
As to the looks, the dock looks cool but the controllers look very cheap. They could’ve done a lot better.

      • Yep, considering you can still get the CE.

    • This is 100% collectable and may even be scalpable

      • +1

        Booooooo

  • -1

any idea about level of supply? Guessing resale value will be decent for these special editions. Also saw collectors edition of the game available for preorder at big w

    • +1

Was up since midday EST on EB yesterday

    • If some of the other LE are to go by, there will be huge stock levels for the switch itself. Pro controller not so much. You could buy the monhun one over a year after it first came out

  • +7

    So expensive

    • +24

They should include lube as nintendo is clearly humping you by not including the game and yet charging you more for the console.

    • -4

Resell in a year for $600 or more easily.

    • +4

      Cyrax Wins. FRUGALITY.

  • +30

    *game not included

    Nintendo having a laugh.

    • +5

I recently found out that European (and US too?) Animal Crossing edition did include the game. Same with other game themed editions. We are just being (profanity) by Nintendo here.

      • +6

We are just being (profanity) by Nintendo here.

We sure are. Could at least include game even if it's digital copy. Seriously Nintendo.

      • +3

Nintendo Australia are known to be a total uncaring/non-contributing failure. They've always been that way and there's no sign of change.

    • These usually release a couple of weeks before the game, which was the case with the Splatoon and Pokémon S/V units if I'm remembering correctly. That way you're not having to set the switch up on release day if it's new, giving you a chance to update everything before the games out. Don't know why we're having to wait until the game release day this time around, but if the game was included then it'd be priced at $640.

      • Looks like this one is gonna be release day for aus. It is getting released a couple weeks early in other regions :(

    • It's fine. It's Zelda, they can do what they like.

  • +2

    Looks nice. I'll HODL though.
My OG switch is still fine. Can survive without this

    • +1

Helps when they can actually be modded.

    • My switch just lives under the TV anyway

  • +13

i don't need another lagging switch console. release upgrade cpu version already

    • yeah what happened to Nintendo always bringing out new revisions? half the reason I held out on the OG model

  • +1
  • +3

I don't think nintnedo does low quantity for special editions anymore.
Hence the lack of "limited edition" in names for these consoles now.

  • +3

Aw Zelda Baby, always looking great, Link is on his way \m/

    • +4

Thanks for the down vote, clearly not a Zelda fan.

  • +2

    game not included…. as always.

    • Maybe with Nintendo - pretty sure Sony and MS normally bundle

  • +1

The dock and the handheld looks cool but I’ll wait until a discount to get it at a better price before I go and sell my neon oled

    • Unfortunately last I checked most of thr special switches very very rarely go on sale.

      • +1

The Scarlet and Pokemon versions were discounted quite often using the eBay promo codes

I’m hoping this will follow suit but noting that Big W is no longer available on eBay. Most of the Switch OLED eBay Plus deals were from Big W

  • +3

One of the better designs so far.

    • Have you seen the Switch Pro controller that goes with this?

      • +2

I call it the leg cast.

      • Its a pretty neat design, doesn't hold a candle to the console itself.

  • +5

Makes a steam deck look like amazing value.

    • +8

100%, can't wait to play this on my steamdeck

      • +5

Don't forget Mario, Smash Bros, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing.. All quality Steamdeck IP's

      • Already got a Switch (launch model), but the allure of upgrading to a oled is unlikely with this pricing.

    • +1

is it easy to play on nintendo games on the steam deck?
you buy the game and stream, or you download ROMs?

  • +2

Lol why would they not include the game

    • +4

Because they want you to pay extra for it.

Nintendo Switch Console OLED Model - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition $549 Delivered

The only tears here is Nintendo shitting me to tears pricing this console as much then not including the game.

  • +3

    The controllers are so ugly.

The dock isn't offensive, but it's not something I want to see around my house. It sparks no joy.

    • +2

Definitely a matter of preference. I hecking love the controllers.

    • Wait. How are they ugly?

  • Waiting for switch 2 non oled to get released before jumping on the handheld console train.

Switch hardware is really showing its age nowadays, sure games can still run fine on it but its already stretching the limit. If it was any other machine, without the games catalogue support it would get shit on because you are paying so much for borderline e waste for 2023. Forgot where I read this but these OLED panels used are also really old models thats not really up to the times.

I think Genshin still not avaible on switch really shows how bad the hardware is. Granted, the former probably have bad optimisation, but given it runs fine on equiv priced phones, one would think with console optimsation it would be better but the non-release is probably because of hardware limitations.

    • These Nintendo special edition hardware will hold its value over the long term even.

      • +2

i have no doubt these limited edition models are going to held up their value well, but im more concerned about the actual performance down the line - if I buy one im not going to sell it a year or two down the line, but going to use it until it dies.

    • Who would of thought a 6 year old console is "showing its age"…

      Genius.

      • ? My point is exactly that because its so old now I will wait for ones with updated specs rather than some paintjob which doesn’t help with performance, only the price went up?

What did i say so wrong that made you angry mate 😅

        • Who's mad?

I personally think its over priced. But its very collectible and will only increase in value.

This is catered to a market. A very large market with MASSIVE amounts of disposable income. Its not for you. Move on.

I get it. You get it. The switch is old.

Why do people need to come into every Switch thread and point out the same tired, rhetoric every time.

    • The switch was showing its age when it was released lol.

      • Nintendo have 6 decades more experience than yourself. I think they have it covered.

        • -1

I dont really understand what you mean by this?

          • +1

@LoogiIsSad: It means nintendo knows a thing or two more than you since they been at it for a very long time.

            • -2

@xoom: Ok cool but this isn't about how much they know its about the fact that the switch struggles to run its own games in many cases. And I'm sure they have reasoning for this but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

              • +2

@LoogiIsSad: It maybe now but back when was released games ran fine. Your comment was pretty much saying it never ran the games from day 1 without struggling and thats just not true.

The reality is nintendo dont compete with the likes of sony or microsoft for hardware. From the wii to the wiiu to the switch. And they likely never will. They have found their niche.

  • -3

I don't think these will be flying off the shelves with option of PS5s everywhere now .
It needs to be 30% off to just get to bargain stage.

    • +4

I actually play my Switch a lot more than my PS5.

      • So much dust on my PS5.

I do like the system but where are the games? Meanwhile, over on my Switch, it barely gets turned off.

    • +2

Yes, with $800 PS5s everywhere, which allow people to play slightly remastered PS3 and PS4 titles, why would anyone buy a Switch?

  • yeah already got a OLED switch and I am sure they will release the joycons on there own :D I already preordered the collectors edition of the game so hopefully comes on time.

  • +3

Doesn't include the game!!! Nintendo! Wtf it costs literally nothing to include a digital copy! That would of made that limited edition switch epic!!

    • I know right? Even a digital copy. We would take it.

    • +3

I agree with you about being included…but also it does cost them money in a sale lost …

      • +1

You are already paying more for the themed console. A digital copy cost them next to nothing.

      • +3

Lost potential game sale yes, but not out of pocket.

They lost a sale from me, if they included the game id totally buy this!

        • +1

100%! i think they've lost a lot of sales because of that, quite a bad move if you ask me especially with hardware this old now.

    • +1

It costs Nintendo the cost of the game to give away a free digital copy.

      • It costs them console sales not to include it. It's the perfect bait to get Switch owners to upgrade to OLED

        • People who weren't going to buy a $500 OLED console without a copy of the biggest game in the world will suddenly spend $500 to save $70?

It's not costing them anything. They're not including the game because people are going to buy the game anyway. It's going to be the biggest game since Breath of the Wild, which is the biggest game since GTA V.

Giving it away for free would be ridiculous.

          • -1

@CONUT: Except they are really not giving it away for free because these themed switch cost more than the standard switch.

    • its pretty rare nintendo includes games with collectors edition consoles. They only release games with normal consoles it seems.

      • +2

I guess I'm just used to the early days. IE a streetfighter themed SNES box came with the actual Street Fighter 2 game cartridge. Sega Master System II with built in alex the kid etc. Just seems so wrong to have a Zelda Themed Switch with glorious Zelda box art and no Zelda game.

        • +2

I really wish sega would create consoles again I miss those consoles.

          • +2

@kungfuman: If Sega had went with a DVD drive instead of GD-Rom on the Dreamcast I think things would of turned out very different. Dreamcast had superior graphics compared to early PS2 titles, didn't take advantage of making it a cheap DVD player like Sony did. :(-

            • +1

@dingaling2: Sega is bascially part of nintendo now they seem to do alot with them on the switch.

            • +2

@dingaling2: They were worried about Piracy which was a huge issue back then. It didn't help though

    • +1

Of course it costs, as they know you'll buy it.

They're clearly betting fans will pay high for this & the game.

  • +1

Some scalpers already selling for 900 on eBay. Confirmed pre order number lol

    • +1

Same idiots do it for every special edition console.
Then when/if it doesn't sell, they just cancel their pre-order.

  • -2

Bugger playing this at 30fps on the stinky Switch. Reckon I'll be waiting for their next console until I play it.

    • +3

Steam deck and yuzu emulator, woo!

Dolphin emulator is even on the steam store now for Wii u - my second play through of Zelda botw was at 4k 60 FPS, on a desktop not Steam deck, but it played it flawlessly (only but was one boss flickering around like crazy, cos 60fps, dropped to 30 for that fight)

      • +2

Cemu is the Wii U emulator
