Madness… price has dropped AGAIN — now under $360 delivered!

A new low on this 4TB NVME Gen 3 SSD, with TLC and with DRAM!

I originally posted this deal at the start of December, but the price has dropped substantially since then!

Lowest I've seen for a decent 4TB NVME, and this is the lowest this has been at CCC. This is $449 at PCCG (OOS).

  • 5 year warranty
  • TLC flash
  • Has DRAM
  • 1.3 PCIe Gen3x4 — NOT SUITABLE FOR PS5
  • Read/Write Speed up to 3,500/2,900 MB/s (likely around 400GB of SLC cache at this speed when empty, ~2000MB/s write when full)

Yes, this item ships to Australian addresses from Amazon USA (amazon.com). If you try to purchase from Amazon Australia, prepare to pay more ($724AUD).

Tip: Pay with a low-international fee card, and select "USD" at checkout to save ~3% more. Up bank, ING etc.

  • Will this work in a gen 4 slot?

Doing some further reading, it appears it's possible that you may receive a drive with a DRAM-less controller:

Man they've really shipped a whole lot different controllers under this model name it seems

      Phison E12
      Phison E12S
      Silicon Motion SM2262EN
      Realtek RTS5762
      Realtek RTS5763DL

It'll probably have HMB, but that does not excuse the bait and switch.

So keep on swapping to inferior more cost effective controller and NAND chips.

  • How does this compare to the Crucial P3 4TB PCIe 3.0 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 3500MB/s - CT4000P3SSD8
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Crucial-PCIe-NAND-NVMe-3500MB/dp/B…

    its $334.36 AUD

      P3 is Dramless

  • Nothing but good things to say about TEAM stuff.

Still have a USB stick working from them in the early 2000's.
Used their RAM in countless builds.

And just did about 4 systems with multiple of the M.2 drives.
All of them seem top perform higher than the competition in the 'Minimum performance' category; which is the only factor I care about in the real world, for NVME.
Very few users will notice a slower performer when ANY nvme is operating at it's peak.
It's when the DRAM or SLC runs out that most users will notice, and care.

Team swapped controller and likely the NAND as well. DRAM also gone. The controller went from DRAM based 8 channel controller to DRAMless controller to DRAMless 4 channel controller. It's cost cutting after cost cutting. Quite a few variants of this making it hard to really tell what you will get.

The main issue with these swaps is reviews based on earlier versions are no longer accurate. Also, while obviously we prefer SSDs not to fail, how the SSD maker manages the warranty is also a factor of consideration.

  • Why bother posting the USD in the title.

Probably because everyone’s final price will depend on the time of day and the mode of payment.

  • I am getting $397.65 on Amazon AU, or did I miss something?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/TEAMGROUP-Internal-Compatible-Desk…

    • You need to change to US store if you want this price. For warranty you may need to send back at your cost as it’s sold by TeamGroup Amazon US store.

      • I am saying the price in AUD is as good/better on Amazon AU.

Thanks for the heads up — this is new!

@pinchies: the AU store has bumped the price back up… but US store is even cheaper now! US$199 before tax + shipping, which works out to A$357.06 inclusive of tax, shipping, and amazon's currency conversion. As mentioned in OP, could save some more $$ with low-fee international card

@tim9800: Thanks for the heads up — this price drop madness happened last time! The 4TB premium is gone - this is close to the cheapest SSD TB/$ ever on ozbargain?! Now to wait for 8TB drives to drop….
