    True but the 5 minutes of my time to download it and transfer it to my Kindle is worth more than $1.67, so perhaps this is still a good deal for some.

      They are public domain in Canada, but not in Australia.
      Australia changed the copyright term from life + 50 years to life +70 years in 2005. Canada made the same change in 2022. The changes are not retrospective.

      C S Lewis died in 1963 so his work entered the public domain in 2014 in Canada. It will enter the public domain in 2034 in Australia. I doubt this kindle edition is authorised by they copyright holders.
