@Flying Ace: Yeah, can be between $50 to $250, depending on who is installing it.
https://www.getinstalled.com.au/ charges around the $250 mark.
Paid USD 102.95 in Sep 2020, worked ok apart from occasional not recording for no reason, until it died completely towards the 2 year mark. I had it hardwired too, so going to replace it now with this deal.
I can confirm that the rear camera has been a major pain. I have had 5 different Viofo Duo over the past 4-5 years, from various sellers. Installed on 4 different vehicles at various times. All car batteries checked ok, or even with brand nerwr car battery, it doesn't make any difference so the voltage can't be the issue. All 5 cameras develop an issue over time, mostly not switching on, or beeping and flashing due to some error. Fiddling with the cables would help get the cam to work, but the problem keeps reappearing. The most frustrating thing is that you can't rely on the camera, so in theory it can betray you when an accident happens.
I know Viofo is the Ozbargain favourite, which sadly doesn't guarantee the dashcam will work every time you turn on the ignition. The image is great when it actually turns on.
I'm through with Viofo and looking to replace the dashcams with the more expensive Blackvue one day. With dashcams you truly do get what you pay for.Thank Op got one with hardwire kit and sadisk high endurance card 128gb. totalling at $250
Just an aside if people were deciding what sd card to get, I found with both cameras recording at the highest resolution and fps that 128gb is not quite enough for how much I want to keep on the card before it loops. I wish I got 256gb.
Also, even though VIOFO says to not use sandisk high endurance (source), mine has worked fine but I understand it's a risk - I also have a samsung sd card.
edit: added info about sandisk high endruance sd cards.
I'll ask this because maybe someone just knows the answer rather than me having to research it.
I currently have a QVIA QR790 with hardwire kit. It has died (constantly rebooting itself) and looking to replace it.
Seems that the Viofo uses the same mini USB cables for both the hardwire kit and the rear camera. Just wondering I might be able to reuse the cables already installed and just plug the Viofo? I imagine the cable to the rear camera will be fine but the hardwire kit I'm not sure on.
I recently purchased the 70mai A500S Pro for a similar price with the hardwire kit included but now need a new dashcam for my partner's car.
Any idea how this one compares? Haven't had any issues with the A500 so far and was pretty straightforward to install.
All dash cameras are junk.
I have this and I don’t recommend it. Software is slow and outdated. Takes ages to copy a video to phone. You cannot play a video directly on the phone cause its so slow to stream. Sometimes camera fails to start with the car.
I think most people would take the sd card out and play it on their PC
Yes, video files can be huge in size, obviously going to take ages to transfer these files wirelessly. Like Poor Ass said take the microSD card out and read in a fast USB3 card reader.
Agree that the mobile app is utter trash, but I'll just be removing the SD card and putting it into a PC.
For anyone that got this deal and is having issues with the app, particularly the live view, follow the steps in this link and remove the app's access to mobile data.

Yeah, the app is still crap, but live view works and streaming video's kinda works on the medium bit rate.

@edfoo: Well obviously - but a ballpark would be good. Is it around $50 or $250?
