Actually I thought this was the 970X plus but it’s just the regular one. U3000 the winner on video quality in that case and what else really matters for a dash cam?

Recording quality wise, they're pretty much on par. Blackvue has better cloud capabilities (but this means buying an ongoing data sim, and recommend getting a dashcam battery to extend your parking mode to make the most out of the cloud feature).
Otherwise, go for the U3000 you'll get radar for parking mode - which means you'll get around 5 days of parking mode (vs the ~10hrs Blackvue or every other dashcam will give). The form factor is not as big of a deal most people think it is, most cars come with a big windscreen module cover these days, if mounted properly, you won't see it as the driver.
