    That's part of it. If you have a card without currency conversion fees, you'll need to make sure it's added to PayPal.

    Once added, set the website currency to USD, at PayPal checkout select the card, choose "See currency options" and bill the card in USD. This will get you the current exchange rate. Otherwise setting the website to AUD or letting PayPal do the conversion will result in a higher rate.
