Price is good, but with these non famous brand SD's they dont seem to last very long, before the internal dies I find the cheap plastic cracking/chipping and card becoming unreadable. This could be just me…

  • I once bought a cheap new brand. It was a 2GB lifetime warranty at the sort of discount we see here. I can't even remember the brand, but it was still around a few years ago.

The card worked fine. 2months later it just stopped working.
There was no point of contact to claim warranty etc.

I have to agree with the sentiments above. Pay the extra for peace of mind, gone are the days you had to pay $200 for a brand. Depends how important the data is to you I guess, I wouldn't risk it personally as I want something to work tomorrow as well as 2 years down the road.

Regardless of the above, backups should be part of a regular routine for any data you don't want to lose. Everytime I insert my cameras SDXC card into the PC backup software detects it and automatically copies its contents to a folder on the HDD, this is then repeated by a networked computer. Probably overkill but anything of importance on my PC is backed up twice.

  • I have bought 2 joyflash sd cards in the past 6 months (64gb class 10 and 32gb class 10) and find them both fast and reliable (so far) however as with all memory cards one should always have a backup. :)

  • Don't use this for your holiday photos, you'll be disappointed when you get home and all the photos are corrupt.
