  • AGL pricings always looked confusing.
OP/rep, when AGL says, it is 6% (as an example) off the reference price for electricity, is it because of the $50 credit or is it pricing 6% off the reference price on top of $50 credit?

    • In my energy pricing comparisons, AGL has never been near the best.

    • The Credit isn't included in the 6% discount estimate. So the $50 credit would reduce the estimate provided on the website.

  • I tried to post it yesterday but was removed as "a negotiated deal" but i checked my energy australia prices and even their own plans were lower than what i was on. They sneakily changed the prices although i had signed up for their particular (flexi) plan few months ago. A few minutes of complaining to the first person, i got put through to the retention team who offered 7% discount on electricity and 10% on gas, for comparable rates with simply energy (they were offering 9% discount) and $200 credit. Worth checking and negotiating with your current provider especially if they can do better rates.

Agl are def not upto the mark. They have hiked the electricity rates and dropped the solar feed in to almost zero. They are losing customer rapdily.
Just luring with $50 credit or some studip mobile sim plans def not going to work.
Will never go with AGL again !!!

Exactly, Im looking to move on from them asap. They've just been going from bad to worse with their FiT and electricity rates.

    • I moved from AGL to Alinta, which had the best combination of FIT and rates for me, a couple of months ago, in Brisbane.

    • Elec Rates are ~45% higher, Daily Supply charge ~50% higher and FIT 20% higher than current provider. Overall it’s a big price hike, no deal here (SYD Endeavour)

    • Who do you suggest for solar feed. They pulled a sneaky one of me as well for solar.

  • Here in NSW they're hiking their prices as well.
I tried comparing them to the competition using the gov comparison site, but they're still pretty good for those who don't want to go with the variable prices based on time of the day.

Am I missing something? I'm in Sydney with Endeavour…

    Thanks
