Does anyone happen to have a list of the most popular 2tb hardrives to keep an eye on for the PS5? Really want to know when to pull the trigger at that $200 mark

    • Also trying to track down the best 2tb to buy for gaming.

      • Gaming itself doesn't get a performance boost etc, i.e. you will not see more frames from your NVMe, you will however, see faster loading screens and boot. This drive would be suitable for a gaming drive.
If however, you are transferring lots of files, completing photography, video work etc, then yes you will see a benefit from faster drives.

      • SN850x is best way to go. The Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus G is a good choice as well, but both are the best you can get right now for gaming.

        • I wanted the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus G but it was so expensive.

For PC gaming, even a slow Gen 3 nvme will be enough. You wont notice much difference - maybe a second or two in game load times. And doesnt look like its gonna change anytime soon. But I would still buy a nice fast 5000MB/s+ Gen 4 as the price difference is not much. SN770 and P5 Plus are great drives.

        • Running games from my Crucial P2 seems to have occasional stutters/mini freezes in some games compared to when I run them from my 970 Pro.

          • @Skrambled: Which ones?

    • 2tb NVMe's*

I got the PNY gen 4 (7k read 5k write one) for $179 from JW picked up for free… So cheaper and more ps5 suitable options do pop up from time to time.

Just clicked on the link and now it's $189.

    • Updated, thanks!

  • Ordered one of these 9 days ago on 25 March and the item hasn't been posted and haven't received any updates. Too slow.

  • I ordered on 29 March, and 2 weeks later the item still hasn't been sent out. How come something "in stock" would take that long to be shipped?

    • Mine just arrived, support mentioned that they only received stock a few days ago.

      • Good to hear, hope mine will be sent out soon.
