These are not usually recognised by Samsung magician are they?
Does Samsung Magician work for any SSD?
Does Magician support all SSDs? SSD Magician only supports Samsung-branded SSDs. Samsung-manufactured OEM SSDs are not supported.
I had the older PM961 from a few years back and Samsung Magician did not support firmware updates. To update firmware, you had to get the firmware update utility for the laptop that the drive was used in, such as for the IBM Thinkpad. I did not bother updating the firmware back then as there didn't seem to be issues. With the current issues exhibited by the latest drives, I'd prefer to get the retail version that Magician is able to update.
I got stung with the regular 980 then realising it's dramless
I have one of these in my Lenovo Legion 7i. It came preinstalled.
512GB PM9A1 also seems to be on sale too for $79 + shipping.
