  • Would rather watch phase 4 Marvel over this. Pass.

    • If you know the trick, you can watch any movie showing at the time of redeeming the voucher.

      • what's trick?

        • if you read through previous comments from similar deals you'll understand.

  • Includes Avatar ? Or just this one movie ?

  • For those who didn’t know that you get 2 movie vouchers, not tickets, which can be redeemed for any movies within your selected session day & time (more expensive if you want them be redeemable on Sunday etc) before the expiration which is 3 years from date of purchase.

    • It does not have to be within your selected session day & time. For Hoyts, pick a session on Monday for the cheapest tickets $16.30 ($8.15 ea). You will get a standard ticket with Expiry 2025

      • No. If you choose any Monday session you will receive a voucher not valid for redemption of tickets for any Saturday afternoon to evening, Sunday afternoon to evening and public holiday sessions.

        • No, not for Hoyts tickets. It’s a standard ticket not valid for weekends after 2pm

          • @MuddyClear: That’s what I’m saying, you will not get a standard ticket as it is a voucher not redeemable on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and evening.

            • @wtfnodeal:

              That’s what I’m saying…

              No, you said:

can be redeemed for any movies within your selected session day & time

No. Again the only major exclusion is weekends after 2pm and extra for xtreme/lux. I think I know what you are meaning but it is misleading the way you have explained it.

you will not get a standard ticket

That’s a standard voucher, which you exchange for a ticket. Other different coloured vouchers will have less exclusions but will cost more. So you can pick a more expensive time slot eg weekends after 2pm, which give you the premium tickets (non standard).

              • @MuddyClear: You don’t get tickets from MyToyota directly. You get a voucher which can be later redeemed for a ticket. I did mention more expensive if you wanted the voucher be redeemable on Sunday etc. Yeah I was too lazy to put down the full details on which days and times could be redeemed but by selecting the days and times when you bought the vouchers from MyToyota would be guaranteed be redeemable on those days and times at the cinema for the tickets.
By the way, when you mentioned tickets which was even more misleading as it meant you would get a ticket for that specific movie you chose at MyToyota.

                • @wtfnodeal:

You don’t get tickets from MyToyota directly. You get a voucher which can be later redeemed for a ticket.

Stop repeating what I have already made clear. There is no point in it.

by selecting the days and times when you bought the vouchers from MyToyota would be guaranteed be redeemable on those days and times at the cinema for the tickets.

No. You simply get the voucher, which does not necessarily guarantee a seat ticket for that chosen session as no booking is made.

                  • @MuddyClear: You said ticket! Not voucher! Not clear! More likely to confuse people that the specific movie, day and time is set when ticket is bought! LOL you are guaranteed to redeem the voucher for tickets if you are willing to travel around all cinemas in your state to watch the movie. Stop arguing for the sake of arguing!

                    • @wtfnodeal:

                      You said ticket!

What has that got to do with you misleading people with your original comment?…zero.

you are guaranteed to redeem the voucher for tickets if you are willing to travel around all cinemas in your state to watch the movie

Again, there are no guarantees as purchasing the vouchers through MyToyota has nothing to do with booking seats at the cinema. You can travel all around Australia if you like, but it won’t help you if your session seats are booked out because someone else has beaten you to it.

Stop arguing for the sake of arguing!

                      How about you stop reflecting.

@MuddyClear: Ok I am done here. Good luck with your way of communication.

          • @MuddyClear: Standard ticket does not naturally imply "not valid weekends after 2 or on public holidays". You get a restricted ticket if you do this

            • @djsweet: The “restricted” ticket is now the standard. If you think otherwise please provide what you think is now standard and premium

              • @MuddyClear: "standard" would mean to most people that you can use it at any session in a standard theatre (not Xtreme/Lux). Premium would mean you get something over and above that. Considering most people go to the movies on weekends, I can't see how you could reasonably call a ticket that doesn't work after 2pm on weekends standard.

The ticket I bought for after 2pm on a Sunday says "Unrestricted". That would imply that tickets which can't be used at that time are "Restricted".

                • @djsweet:

"standard" would mean to most people that you can use it at any session in a standard theatre (not Xtreme/Lux).

That is your opinion, but it’s not necessarily fact. I would argue that most tickets sold are the restricted tickets, which makes them the standard. In turn, the unrestricted tickets are the premium tickets, which cost extra to watch weekends after 2pm. Then the Xtreme/Lux are another level of premium.

                  • @MuddyClear: If unrestricted tickets are "premium" and the restricted tickets are "standard", then it would make a lot more sense to refer to them as "restricted" and "unrestricted". The alternative is wilfully confusing, and arguably misleading.

The whole idea that a standard ticket wouldn't include the standard times when the majority of people go to the cinema is just taking the piss.

                    • @djsweet: I would agree that it is more clear to refer to the Hoyts vouchers as either restricted or unrestricted types.

  • bought movie tickets today for event cinemas for a random movie (seems to be super saver) for $13, but says expiry date is 30/04/23… movies aren't very good at the moment.

edit: looked at tickets from deal last year in december, and expiry date is the same. perhaps they are keeping this deal up until 30/4/23. also bought for hoyts in dec, but hoyts expiry date was March 2026 so perhaps hoyts is way to go for extra couple of dollars

    • The actual expiry date in Village Cinemas system is showing as 31-Aug-23

WARNING: I followed this tip for a cheaper session on Monday at Event Cinemas, and got vouchers that say:

Not valid for movie sessions starting after 5pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Not valid public holidays.

  • Doesn't look like you even have to be a Toyota owner… didnt ask me or any proof. Just go straight to https://mytoyotatickets.com.au

  • I tried to redeem some tickets today and some said redeemed already and some said expired despite being valid until 2025

I raised it with Hoyts and they found it very strange, one ticket was mysteriously redeemed for food and drink and the other for a movie I saw in Village

Something dodgy is going on with these

    • I have the same issue with one of my ticket from Avatar deal with Village Cinemas as well.

I went to the counter to check and the ticket was redeemed on even 3 days before I bought and received my ticket.

It looks like their system has a serious security issue that they have sent out the same ticket to multiple buyers.

I just emailed [email protected] asking for replacement ticket. BTW, Village Cinemas ticket showing in their system expires 31-Aug-23 despite expiry date as 30/4/23 in the email.

Just got a reply from Toyota movie, they said there was a bug in their system and they have emailed me a new voucher.

If your voucher has been redeemed by someone, you can email Toyota movies to investigate.
