I added a link and an image but it didn't appear when I first created the deal.
Good deal in the current climate, I got the 1580s for 59 when Amazon had them at Prime day in '21.
Pity their so much more expensive now.
Does anyone know how to add a subwoofer to these?
Doesn't look like they have a connection for one https://www.edifier.com/product-r1380db.html
Would that matter if my PC has a dedicated output for a subwoofer?
Get a sub that takes the line inputs and passes the mid-high frequencies through to the speakers.
Will this make good music speakers? Looking into getting a vinyl setup, but have an OzB budget
Probably acceptable given your budget.
Fair enough
Any 2.0 speaker set in a similar price range that has good bass?
I have these as PC speakers and I honestly don't think the bass is THAT BAD. Yeah it's not amazing, but it's more than I need for casual gaming and definitely enough for music streaming. I'm not sure I'd really want more bass, or it would probably start rattling my desk!
It's not about more, it's about how low the frequency extends.
you dont miss if it you never experienced it in the first place
realisitcally this has a 4" driver in a small cabinet… its going to be ok
but if you move to something like a 6" driver in a large cabinet w/ more than 42w then you will find out what you are missing
Exactly. Only after I bought an 8" sub did I know what was missing, and there's no way I'd live without it now.
Not lacking bass. Just not "V-shaped" like most speakers and headphones nowadays. I have found that Edifier speakers go down low, but don't boost the lows beyond what the music is meant to sound like originally.
