ROTFLOL!
lol jesus music
I believe they were laughing at the typo, not because it's Christian music.
Do you know who Jesus is?
@jashjash: Exactly. The funny part is the typo. Or maybe not a typo — probably just software decided to cut off the text at the wrong spot.
@scotty: I can assure you that the cut off word was not intentional. That's where the software decided to break the paragraph.
However, I do appreciate the interest it has generated : ).
One day I will hear HIS Voice—in Heaven!
@InghamQLD: Amen to that!
yay!
if you forget the whole religion thing.. and take it on face value… all it is is a free song by a relatively unknown band. There's plenty of those on the internet, should I start submitting them all?
I remember seeing posts of the free Paul Kelly songs when he had them free on his site.
And after doing a search they can be found here:
http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/2692
So I guess nothing is stopping you from doing that.
yes but alot of people have heard of paul kelly and he was releasing a great deal of songs.
just sayin, if this wasn't about Christianity no one would care…
Well you can't really disassociate a Christian song from Christianity can you?
Many of the songs have the same titles and lyrics, and they are sung by different people, so it's not about the artist in the end - it's about the song which is about what Jesus or what God has done in people's lives.
I believe that is why it's hard to parallel traditional Christian music and Pop/Rock music.
People listen to Paul Kelly because of Paul Kelly, while I hope (and pray) that Christians listen to Christian music to glorify God, not man.
@jashjash: Are you serious or joking? I think somebody takes things too seriously.
@Immortal: Look, I'm not trying to turn this into a sermon or anything, but I'm just sharing my Christian viewpoint.
I hope you can understand why it's not something I take lightly.
@jashjash: habibi calm down ule
We need more free metal. Hail satan.
Sorry, not in the spirit of this site.
Well. In what way is it not of the spirit of this site? It's a freebie :)
@InghamQLD — thanks for providing the free download, although it's not really the style that I usually listen to (after downloading it). I buy mostly Emu stuff…
I know any offer here that's related to Christianity (or any other religion) is going to attract "off-topic" comments that I would rather not see. So as this is OzBargain, please focus the discussions on the actual deals/freebies.
Or maybe I should start a Christian freebie site to shield away secularistic discussions. Maybe the tag line will be something like this — "there are more freebies than the Son of God died for your sins for free." :)
If these listings are encouraged than what is there to stop me from submitting Carnatic songs or even Hindustani songs that are free to download for a limited time. This site would lose it's appeal if it was spammed with such posts.
Anyway, these types of listings, IMO at least, have ulterior motives…
Also at the risk of offending some members, I do apologise if you're in this category, God has no son, God is not in need of a son.
For someone who believes that this bargain wasn't in the spirit of the site, then that comment is definitely not in the spirit of this site. Make up your mind!
I don't think they have ulterior motives, just because you are not interested in it, doesn't mean that it deserves a neg.
Does that mean if you are a man and someone posts a deal on free ladies dresses, it has an ulterior motive for you to cross dress? You don't have to take the dress, just like you don't have to download Christian music.
And also it comes down to you to believe whether God had a son, or doesn't have a son. I don't think the original poster of the deal is aiming this at non-Christians anyway.
If someone was to post a bargain like Scotty said above, "Son of God died for your sins for free" then your comments may be more relevant.
IMO God didn't need a son as well. He has one because we are the ones that needed that Son, because of our sinful state. But that's just my take on it, and this is a discussion site, and we are here discussing it. Perhaps off topic though.
lol and who are you to decide what God has or what God needs?
Jesus spoke, and proved what he said about God was true by rising from the dead to live forever.
Everyone else who says stuff about God is dead.
You never posted any deals or freebies yourself, only left a few negative comments. Why don't you submit some of that music you mentioned and see if you get any votes?
But somehow I don't think you will do anything… Now I have to vote it + just to even out your negative vote =P
I agree with you, they just cant keep their beliefs to themselves. The is AusBARGAIN not AUSJESUS. Free Christian music is not a bargain, i would need to be payed to listen to it.
jashjash put it very well, I personally enjoy all the Christian stuff that gets posted and I'm sure that a significant number of others also feel the same. I also can understand why some might not see this (music download) as a bargain. But from my experience, if something is of no interest to me, I won't look at it. So why do people always seem to make a fuss when the title clearly states what this post is about?
Is a man dying on a Cross for His people that offensive to you? I suggest if you want to make a point, do your research, read the Bible for yourself, then try and disprove it. I'm open to anything anyone has to say.
What the main point here is that this is not a real bargain, not anything against the christians.
@poorman, disprove the bible? The real question is, can you prove anything from it?
PS: This reminds me of that south park episode where cartman creates a band "Jesus +1" to make money, lol.
No deal
Kum Ba Yah
I knew it!
kthxbye
thread closed.
The shortened version of the offer on the home page gets cut off at an interesting spot. It says: … from one of their most popular Music CDs, "Give Me Jesus" by vocalist Christ
I clicked through and was disappointed that the vocalist is Christy Galkin and not Christ :)
