$180 off internet for 12 months when bundled with energy ($15 per month)

It's normally a $10 discount when bundling internet so this offer is only a $5 per month discount on top of what you would normally get ($60 over 12 months)

What's the latest you can set a start date for this to take effect?

Is it worth cancelling my current NBN if going o/seas for a month or too much hassle?

ETA, looks like their plans are too pricey anyway

  • So they jake the price up compared to other internet providers. Then give you a discount in a bundle lol

      compared to other internet providers

You should probably compare it to Aussie Broadband as that is what they are reselling.

      25/10 50/20 100/20
      This Origin deal $59 $69 $89
      Aussie Broadband $69 $79 $99
      • Superloop used to be $70 for 50/25 but I see they have jacked their prices too.

          ABB offer:
The minimum plan you can select for the discount is 100/20.

          Here's an updated table.

          25/10 50/20 100/20
          This Origin deal $59 $69 $89
          Aussie Broadband $69 $79 $89

You’re right, I just had a look and they’re advertising gigabit for $154 when it’s $149 at ABB so the $5 discount is a load of shit. You’re really only getting a $10 discount.

Does Origin still use CGNAT that you can't opt out off?

    • cannot, that's why I change to MORE

    • I was on Origin Broadband mid last year and they refused to disable CGNAT then.

They said they could. Until I connected. Then they said they couldn't.

    • Alternative is a static IP bolt on but it costs $5 per month.

      • Thats the problem though, Origin don't have the option for static IP

        • I am not sure if they have changed their system, but they sure had the static ip option when i signed up with them back in 2021. I am still with Origin and have static ip, and receice the invoice with static ip bolt on of $5.

          • @Summoner: From your comments it looks like static IP is not an option for customers, but in your case they applied it since you were given wrong information at the time of signing up as a courtesy.

I would consider Origin if they had static IP (i need it for my IP cameras) since I already have my electricity with them.

I actually did signup for Origin internet, but because of no option for static IP (speaking the the tech support they didn't understand why either) I had to churn out after a couple of days.

  • I was with Origin for NBN for about a year. Speed was terrible and their customer support for NBN specifically was offshore and horrible. I was getting speeds of around 10-15mbps. Switched to ABB and speeds went to 40mbps.

Origin is using ABB network though

      • Correct.
I switched from Aussie to Origin and found no difference in speed or quality of service.

        • Weird. No idea, not sure why my connection changed so drastically then. I didn’t change any hardware etc.
