Not like it used to be huh. At least you don't get the hate op.

  • +8

You would expect the A53 to be $399 or lower by now.

  • +5

    I missed the $1 broadband deal…

  • does anyone have a galaxy flip?

  • +11

    meh…

  • +4

Assuming the zflip 4 is the 128gb model - that's $100 cheaper than Samsung EPP pricing…

  • +11

is the home internet plan discounts for new customers or for existing customers as well?

    • -1

Existing, I tried to sign up for the internet plan discount and was knocked back. Was offered a $120 credit instead.

      • +1

Did you call Telstra to get this offer? Btw I thought these offers are available only on Thursday?

        • Hid them up via livechat. Good luck

          • @matyd: I tried but they kept saying its for new customers only and didn't give anything to me .. sob sob

  • +6

Essential, Premium and Ultimate, what speeds are those?

    Edit: Essential: 50 Mbps down
    Premium: 100 Mbps down
    Ultimate: 250 Mbps down

  • +20

I guess it’s competitive if you’re currently paying full price for Kayo. Can’t believe people are paying $95 a month for 50Mbps.

    • +3

It depends what you mean by people. If you mean OzBargainers, no. If you mean people that think internet is WiFi and that Telstra is best, then you get people paying that kind of money. A lot of people have no idea what their internet speed is.

      • -3

Plenty of Ozbargainers on overpriced Telstra plans that don't know better…

        • On 250 plan for 90 that doesn't seem to over priced?

          • @chris666: May wanna double check prices.

            $110 for 6 months.

            • @scuderiarmani: My bill says 90 but thanks

              • @chris666: Well you aren't the norm. Ultimate plan above says otherwise.

And typical of Telstra to just provide different prices for everyone…

      • The Norton browser the nice salesman at Hardly Normal installed on my $6000 HP GamePotato Pro, that I use for email and light you tubery, says I need to upgrade to Norton Fastweb for only $150/m to make my internets faster. Is this a bargain? It seems like it…

  • +3

    The S21FE 5G & A53 5G are both over a year old & the latter was a major disappointment.
$110 RRP for 100 speed NBN is embarrassing. The Kayo inclusion is nice for a year.
Nothing to really see here folks.

    • +1

And the “deal” is for 6 months. Essential Expensive ™, Premium Expensive ™ and Ultimate Expensive ™.

  • +6

    Don't see any deals

Telstra wouldn't give me free kayo, so i just cancelled my internet yesterday.

I will be hot spotting for a while.

If it was 20 off the $80 package i would be keen.

    • @lukehopewell can you please confirm if existing customers can change to these plans and be eligible?

      • I have asked in store yesterday and online and the answer was no.

Since i went to jb hifi to get a phone with telstra i now have a NEW account altogether, so no past internet on it.

So it should work at least for me.

  • Can I buy these Samsung phones on store or it has to be online order?

  • +1

could anyone find details as to contract length and if you'd lose kayo if you cancel in 6 months after discount?

    • I would like to know that as well.

  • +1

Current EPP price for Flip 4:
    128GB - $1199.20
    256GB - $1319.20
    512GB - $1479.20

S21 FE is OOS on EPP

  • +1

If we already an existing customer with one of those NBN plans, do we get those discounts applied to our account automatically?

    • +6

highly unlikely.. Telstra screw existing customers

      • +2

Love the fact you're associated haha

        • +9

its the truth.. but its not just Telstra, its most companies. They screw existing, and only care about new customers

          • @87percent: Oh dw, I totally agree with you

            • @lachhelix: confirming that existing customer won't get it. i tried to recontract for WFH purpose, Telstra won't budge at all.

          • @87percent: I got a 6 mths "new customer" discount from ABB when moving premises! So not all companies screw you over.

    • keep switching between ABB and Telstra every 6 months to avoid the loyalty tax

    • +1

      Loyalty tax on existing customers.

  • +1

Lol @ those standard nbn prices

    • -1

Cheaper than ABB and includes home phone.

      • +1

The standard prices do not beat ABB.

  • Does anyone know how often the samsung secret sales occur?

    • called a secret for a reason

  • +1

Anything on the pixel 7 pros?

  • +1

To pay that much on an S21 FE, you would better get the Pixel 7 for $799.

    • My S21 Fe has been overheating so i wouldn't recommend that phone.

  • i've been considering getting the flip4 for the missus. Is this a good deal?

  • How does this compare to the Optus/Flybuys deal?

  • is there anything stopping me from changing to Telstra for 1 month for the 12 months of Kayo and then changing back next month to a better value provider, there's no contract, please let me know if i'm wrong

    • It looks like the Kayo subscription is through Telstra not directly with Kayo so it probably won’t work. Slim chance it works if your phone is with Telstra and the Kayo attaches to that plan after you cancel your internet.

“For Telstra Personal customers taking up a new home internet service. Roll onto Kayo Basic standard month-to-month fees after 12 months unless you change or cancel beforehand. Must sign up to Kayo via Telstra at https://hub.telstra.com.au/kayo. Not compatible with any other Kayo offer or third-party billing platforms.

If you cancel within 12 months, you will lose the remainder of, and cannot restart, the Kayo offer. Not available on Kayo One. Current Kayo One customers need to upgrade to Kayo Basic first to be eligible for this offer.”

  • @lukehopewell can these deals be bought in store tomorrow? Or online only?

  • Would the home internet plans get you the Smart Gateway for free? with 4g backup?

  • I just got off the chat with a telstra rep, mentioned the discounts available for "telstra day", but even though he said the offer was for new customers, he was able to apply a $20/m credit on my plan for a year. I'm on the premium internet plan, so basically same discount anyways… try it YMMV

    • How did you go about doing that. I tried on chat and all I got was “exisiting customers aren’t eligible” spiel.
