    Micro SD Car $31

    • +3

Pretty sure it’s a car for ants

    • +2

SD stands for standard diesel? Saves on premium desiel?

  • +3

Damn paid $36 at Amazon 2 days ago.
    I'm sure I need 2.
    That's the OZB way.

    • Never mind. Amazon probably has easier returns.

  • +2

    Letsgoooo. Thanks op, got 1

  • Are cards like these OK to leave in your laptop and use as an extra drive for something like torrent downloads (point the save directory to the card)?

    • Sure

    • +1

They tend to have limited i/o operations before they fail, I would set the downloading/temp directory to be on your local drive and set the completion folder to the SD card and then you just have to go in and stop/pause the torrent once it hits 100% so it's not seeding from the SD card.

      • Makes sense. Thanks.

Another Q. What about a portable SSD plugged into my router as a backup drive. At the moment I have a powered HDD plugged in to the router, works well to auto back up photos from phones and PCs but wondering if SSD are fine (no spinning disc permanently running).
Photos are also backed up to cloud but I want a local backup to.

        • SSD is a drop in replacement for the HDD, they are accessed identically. Don't know if you will see much speed improvement for your backups, routers tend to have slow file sharing.

          • @Agret: It wouldn’t be for speed, I was thinking maybe more reliable seeing the disk isn’t spinning 24/7 (seems the disk is always running when plugged into the router). Or would a portable HDD (usb powered from the router) be better.

            • @PVA: SSD are good for always on compared to a HDD since no moving parts it should be more robust.

If you want local data backup it's probably best to invest into a NAS since you have multiple drives in them when a drive fails you swap it with a new one and it rebuilds and keeps on going.

              • @Agret: I didn’t want to go all out (as well as no room where the router is and not wanting a pc/nas running making noise). Only backing up photos and docs on the drive as well as google backing up photos and messages.

    • This is what I've done on my cheapo laptop that came with limited space. Still going strong after three years, but I also don't download big files that frequently

      • Thanks.

    • Yes, im using this in my HP Spectre x360.

I dont run programs off it but treat it like storage

    • Why wouldn't you post it mate?
      I just bought 4 for $66.53 delivered.

    • +2

      $14 + shipping at Digidirect

This is the real deal ;-)

      • Thanks, they also have other cards that aren't as good value but still a good deal imo. I think the 512GB is $58 which is pretty good.

    • Thanks. bought one

    • +2

Thanks mate, got one after much struggle with the mobile site.

      • +1

Their mobile site sucks hard. I always order from them on my PC because of it.

    • +3

My receipt and payment both glitched.
Ordered 2, only got charged $28.27, but automated receipt states 0

      • +2

        automated receipt states 0

        Me too.

        • Same. Ordered 1 delivered, only got charged $14.13 and receipt says qty 0.

      • Same here :/

      • +1

Crap, I just realized my order is the same… Ordered 3, $42 + a $0.40 payment & handling fee, but on the email it says Quantity = 0

Edit: And they didn't charge the shipping…

        • +1

Same boat here. Can’t wait to see how this plays out

      • +3

Just got an email saying it was a pricing error and the order is being cancelled/refunded.

    • -2

Great deal, Bought 10 with free postage.
Don't think just buy, that is the OZB way.

      • +1

Did your email list the 10?

    • +3

I ordered this yesterday and was waiting to see if it would go through before unleashing it here. I called a store to check stock, none at any store and “there’s a lot of backorders” but I could place an order if I wasn’t in a rush. Only afterwards did I search OzB/WP for comments on Digidirect backorders. Expect a long wait, if it arrives at all.

On the plus side I haven’t received a pricing error notification. Yet.

      • +1

That's unfortunate. The few times I've ordered memory cards off them they've been shipped pretty quickly but for a deal like this, I'd expect there to be delays. Long as they arrive in the end. I always have a stack of cards in various capacities available just in case I need one for a project or device.

I just have one of these to store them in - https://www.amazon.com.au/JJC-Memory-Holder-Water-Resistant-…

  • +1

are digidirect real cards , never used before

    • I hope so…. Went to buy like 5 then realised free shipping over $99 so bought 8 lol

    • I've bought cards off them in the past and they've all been legit as far as I'm aware, also never had issues buying camera gear through them.

They also have half a dozen storefronts in NSW as well as a couple in QLD and VIC so I'd say they're pretty legit but always better to be safe than sorry and test the cards when you get them if you're worried.

    • Digidirect is a well known store in photography comunity (not just in aussie). They used to had a youtube tutorial about photography around 10 years ago when online tutorial was hard to find.
I can say they are legit bussiness.

  • Is this good for dashcam or should I go for Samsung pro endurance

    • +2

Endurance is the one you want for dashcams.

    • +1

If it's something important like for a dashcam, I'd personally get an endurance card but I'm sure there are plenty of people out there using these cards in their dashcams.

It would probably be fine but I'd recommend changing them over periodically just so you don't get stuck with a card failure when you most need it.

    • +1

Endurance is better for dashcam but these are cheap enough that you can just buy 2 in case you need to swap it out.

I have a Samsung Evo in mine and it's been running okay for a few years so I think the durability is generally better in general for sdcards these days anyway, might not be a huge issue.

    • If you care enough to ask then you should be buying endurance

  • Would this be good in a GoPro?

    • +1

Yes, they're on the Gopro recommended card list..

  • +2

didn't need it, but bought it.

i will never buy a house because i keep buying crap on ozbargain :(

    • +3

Crap makes house into a home. you'll get there.

  • Does Officeworks price match ebay price?

    • Nope

    • I have but not code or coupon discounted price.

  • +2

Booo, digi direct refunded me due to a “glitch”

  • :( refunded me as well

  • +1

Digi stated that it is a typo according to their T&C and cancelled my order.

    • The intern did it.

  • Thanks op. Gonna use this with my dash cam
