Looks like a fire starter probably will burn out after a few uses?

    • It’s just an electric motor…
99% of all electric motors have thermal protection, usually in the windings. The motor will stop until it cools off.

Operator error may cause a fire by not cleaning it or storing it incorrectly, like putting a plastic fuel container on it after you’ve finished use.

No more fire risk than a petrol mower but a bit less risky than a battery powered mower I rekon, because those batteries can catch fire too

Operator error? 🤣🤣 This thing is junk, you press a button and use it but it will probably die water a few uses because the brand is junk

I've used one of these abs although it's junky, you can't go wrong for $50.

So long as you're cutting a small area of grass not more than 30 meters from a power point.

  • What was the original price?

    • 199?

      • +1

Maybe although the Ozito that looks pretty similar is $129

          Yeah

@life is suffering: If you google the model number, it goes to an Einhell page, who are the makers of Oztto too. https://www.einhell-service.com/en_DE/3400288-xlm-1237-ex-au…
Looking a lot like they make both and the only difference I can see is the plastic colour. Same thing, different name

@King Tightarse: I tried to replace my 1500W Ozito, and they only had that 1200W model, and couldn't tell me if or when the 1500W model would be available again. So I bought the 1200W one. I would recommend the 1500W model, if you've got a small lawn that you mow regularly. But I would not recommend the 1200W model. Its little more than a toy. And if this cheap XU1 is just an Ozito 1200W with a different brand name on it, I'd only recommend it to anyone who doesn't need or expect anything much more than a toy. They are a pain in the backside to assemble. They are a pain in the backside to adjust the cutting height. They are ridiculously small so the width mowed in each pass is narrow. And they are gutless. I don't have a problem with it being corded electric, that's ideal for me. But its too just too small, too low powered, and too gutless to function adequately as a serious lawn mower.

    More landfill….

Was just about to post same

I sold my electric bosch and got a petrol one

I came to the conclusion that electric/battery mowers are useless if you have a moderatly sized lawn area.

Im also in the process of replacing my bosch electric pressure washer to a petrol one.

      • No idea why you're being negged. These really are only useful in very specific circumstances and not even all grass types.

Got a $599 petrol from total tools after had to stop twice to return 2 Ryobi $99 pressure washers in a day.. cleaned 1 side of house.

Petrol cleaned the rest of house in 2 hrs the next day… other three sides.

If you actually want to clean good sized areas forget electric..

        • Or buy lots of batteries

        • +4

@angryasian - You can't compare a $99 electric pressure washer to a $599 petrol one. If you initially bought a $599 electric one, then you wouldn't have run into these issues.

          • @StonedWizard: That’s fair but when it blew up even the gernis and karchers didn’t go much over 2000psi… this petrol rips 3200psi and 10L water per min, at least at bunnos there was nothing I could get at short notice

I also couldn’t see the much of a spec difference between the base and top models, mainly accessory’s for the $$. Though I see gerni has a 2300 psi model for $739 now

      • I think the Ego battery mowers are well regarded, though they are quite dear.

It's also in Taylor's Lakes VIC for $50.

    • Oopps. You are right. Wrote the wrong location. Fixed. Thanks

  • Can you price match from local Bunnings ?

  • +1

Also at Bellambi for $50 (still had plenty left) and Shellharbour has the ex-display for $30 (as of 4pm today)

  • Hey guys! just went in for this deal, got it from Port Macquarie Bunnings for $18.75!! Wicked, even if it doesn't work great, that's a sick markdown

  • Found an old 2 Victa sports 2 stroke mower thrown out.
Would that be better than this electric one?

    • Sure, $50 cheaper. Does it run? They often need a clean and a new spark plug.

  • Thanks OP got one from Taylors Lakes. They still have 4 or 5 them in stock. Cheers

    • It is sold out in this location

  • Anyone have the SKU for this from the receipt? The Bunnings stock number.
