Just got a notification for it 6 mins ago.
Seems like a good cheap m.2 or a really pricy bookmark.
Lowest it has been according to 3cmls

Saw it a bit earlier on Centrecom for $69+8.95 shipping pricing, seems like Amazon is matching it, free C&C if you live near one to save on shipping though
It sounds like these were good drives, but they changed the NAND used and now they are crap. I really do wonder about the legality of doing this sort of thing.

They are getting cheeky with specs, basically if it hits a certain speed they put whatever is cheapest in. in some cases they wont even declare the lifetime write caps.
These are d-ramless and are low end to start with so unfortunately this sort of thing will happen.
If it matters or you want the assurance. wait for a midtier model to drop and jump on that :-)
They weren't ever really great drive to begin with but were ok as a budget drive before the component swap
Really dodgy of crucial, should have legal action taken against them for misleading customers
Legally it is a bit of an odd case as the drive still meets the basic specifications. The issue relates to them receiving positive reviews and then fundamentally changing the performance of the drive.
Will this work in this enclosure?
Yeah, the ones that support NVMe will work with it. SATA-only version will not
what's the difference between this and the p3 which is a few bucks more?
Both are dramless, p3 is a slightly faster and newer controller. 1tb size for both are QLC.
Are these drives okay for just storing games?
Yep
I wonder if there will be any performance improvement for getting a PCIE 4.0 nvme ssd from a PCIE 3.0 one.
Unless you do tasks that require lots of reads and writes to the drive, you probably won't notice the difference between a NVMe Gen 3 and Gen 4 drive of the same quality.
You'd likely be better off with a quality Gen 3 Drive vs a cheap Gen 4 Drive
i think for those new computer standards. Like drr5 ram, pcie 4.0, pcie 5 gpus. If you have any doubt what they are, you probably don’t need them, professionals that would really benefit from those features would hear about them more in their industry.
wow it's getting cheaper and cheaper. Purchased this one at A$110 in 2020.
p2 for $77 or p3 for $88 , which one is better ? for general PC usege ?
I think you can get WD SN570 for $89 + $20 Mastercard Gift Card redemption at JW which is cheaper, somewhat more reliable (TLC inherently, vs QLC), and at least as fast.
Thanks Mate! ordered one from JW for click and collect
What giftcard do you get?
$20 Mastercard - treat as a $20 debit card.
@tekisei: Thanks! Where does it say that btw?
Bugga. Bought a 500Gb last week for $55 :(
Think 500gb should be tlc
This or nv2 gen4?
wrong link?
