Was checking whether an i5 11400 can be had for less than $200 by now, and found this 11600KF instead. Next cheapest on StaticIce is $279
Seems like a great deal for budget-minded LGA1200 system owners - note thought that your cooling needs to be adequate as its TDP is rated at 125W (currently sporting an i3 10105 myself so inclined to think mine isn't, alas).

Plenty of availability at time of posting (most VIC stores and the one NSW store have stock, SA does not, online does), and regarding shipping it states the following:
"Flat Rate Shipping capped at $5 for standard delivery on online orders over $79 in value."

    Its very competitive against 5600x which at this price it makes for a compelling case for upgrading on LGA1200 mobo.

    The only problem is power draw and OP have noted that already. 125w is definitely high, but not that high that it cant be cooled with a reasonably priced air cooler.

  Nice op, I bought a 11400 Jan last year for 229. This will be the upgrade I planned for Master2's 10105f i3 build a few years ago. Now he gets to use a gen4 m.2 in slot one.

    yep, one of the 2 main reasons I'm keeping an eye for a cheap - and worthy - 11th gen upgrade (the other being the supported RAM speed going from 2666 to 3200)
