On Binge as well I believe

    • +7

Can confirm. Had a rollicking good time last night. Little coherence in an obfuscating story, but just fun times with characters, dialogue, and action. Do recommend, 3 ⭐ / 5.

      How'd you find it, Margaret…

  • +12

    Decent movie.

    • If you liked this check out Cocaine Bear. It sounds sick. Like can you imagine a literal bear on cocaine? Ha ha
Would be pretty crazy hey haha

      • I've seen the trailer for that lol. Looking forward to watching it eventually.

      • +12

huh i thought that movie was out already. Ted (2012)

      • +2

Watched cocaine bear, it was pretty ordinary with a few fun bits.

        • +1

I haven't seen it (Yet?), but all the reviews I've seen from film people I tend to share views with say it's pretty mid.

          • +3

            @Sleeqb7: Mid means
            Mate
            It's
            Da best

      • Cocaine Bear

        Cinema has peaked!

      • Idiocracy is getting closer every day.

      • What's a literal bear?

    • +2

      I really enjoyed bullet train.

Is a lightweight movie, but very entertaining.

  • +1

Bit of fun, could have cut maybe 30 minutes from it with some faster editing though imo

    • +2

Definitely bloated, agree on needing a harsher editing hand.

When you're right in the middle of the denouement and you're getting a timeline for the water bottle, behind those tears of laughter you're getting really frustrated.

  • +27

Speaking of Bullet Train, crazy to think that this guy became this guy

    (and yes Quicksilver)

    • O_O

    • +3

      Next James Bond.

    • +1

That's why he looked familiar, thanks. Could not place him anyhow.

    • +2

It's interesting how he went to work on a film at the age of 18 (Nowhere Boy), shacked up with his boss (director) Sam Taylor-Wood, who at 42 was 24 years older than him, and no one batted an eyelid about it. If that was the other way around you could only imagine what would be out there. Now for the real controversial part: she's not even that good looking.

Good actor though, I'll give him that. And they are still together after many years, which is more you can say for many celeb relationships.

    • And godzilla he was married to his sister who was in Avengers age of ultron.

    Here for the comments.

    • This isn't a condom deal

  • +6

Watched it last night on Binge. The stupid thing doesn’t translate when they speak in Japanese or Russian, but captioning the English part.

    Hope Prime does better job.

    • Prime usually does the same thing. Its pretty frustrating..

      • +3

Is it not just an artistic choice?

        • No. Because you can select other subtitles and it shows it (like Chinese). But not English for whatever reason.

          • +1

@John: The bought version (snagged it on google play) didnt either. I assumed it was an artistic choice.

        • While sometimes it's an artistic choice, this time it's definitely not. I have my version from… elsewhere… and it has subs for the Russian and Japanese parts perfectly. Just depends on the subs you have at your disposal, and whether Prime/Binge etc use the forced subtitles (foreign languages included) or not

      • Prime usually does, but I watched it last night and while it doesn't sub if the subs are off, it does if you put them on. I've had other shows that didn't sub at all on prime, like the doco about Carlos Ghosn, and half of that was either in French or Japanese, was so annoying I couldn't watch it.

    • +12

On Prime, using "English" subtitles as opposed to "English [CC]" did the trick for me.

      • thanks for this, it works

  • Watching it 2night! Thanks OP

    • Crazy

    • +1

$&@/!?$&@“. You just had to be that guy, huh

      • Yup, it is like the ending of 99% of action movies and I am still getting neg . HA HA.

      • Spoiler alert, the villain isn't who you think it is

  • +1

Bad movie, but in a fun crappy kinda way. Tries to be too clever and ends up getting stuck inside its own arse.

    • +1

      Buttet Sprain

    • +7

Tries to be too clever and ends up getting stuck inside its own arse.

      Kind of like your comment?

    • I agree, did work on my laptop while watching it cos it was that boring.

      • Oh man. I did that watching The Eternals.

    • +1

Bad movie, but in a fun crappy kinda way.

I think it's a style of movie, e.g. like Neo-Noir. I can't remember what it's called but something like absurd/surreal. Almost comically absurd moments in the movie I am sure you agree. Not sure how to say it. But yeah for me it wasn't enough and it would be on the bad side of 5/10.

For example the movie "Shoot em up" is a similar style. But it did it much better IMO.

      • Shoot em up is nothing like this, I didnt rate Shoot em up either, we must have very different tastes

    • The problem is Hollywood has learn't nothing from the Indonesians and Thais. Graphic violence sells to adults. Not PG ratings.

I would recommend Raid and Raid 2, and the films of Tony Jaa like Ong Bak.

  • I paid for it a few weeks ago, wasn't great. They think the more people that are killed the better the film. Similarly bought Violent Night last night, not as good as i expected, lots of people killed.

    • +6

      Don't pay for movies?

      • This is why movies are bad these days, actors get paid in bread crumbs

    • +18

Watches a movie called Violent Night and doesn’t like it because there’s too much death lol

      • +4

I watched Violent night. Negative 1 star too much death i was expecting they would just be holding hands while singing Kumbaya the whole movie.

        /s

        • I didnt like Violent night - I mean it was watchable, but I regret buying it rather than renting it.

        • +6

Easy mistake, it was Violet Night you probably meant to get out. The plot centres around a 24 hour task to finish floral crowns for the village fair the following day. Everyone gathers in the church hall in a heart-warming display of community spirit. Petty disagreements are resolved and romances blossom.

Spoiler: they fail to complete their task and the local vicar massacres them all as punishment.

    • +5

Go watch John Wick, I bet you'd love that…!

      • I think people who don't like John Wick don't know that it's based on a comic book series. It changes the perspective going into it.

        • +4

I don't know why that should change anything.

I know all the Marvel and DC films are based off comics and I still don't like or want to watch them

          • @Faro:

I don't know why that should change anything.

It definitely does because comic books over do things like story and action and the film seems absurd.

I know all the Marvel and DC films are based off comics and I still don't like or want to watch them

I agree with you by the way. I don't like super hero movies.

            • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: Also in saying that, I didn't know John Wick was based off a comic, but enjoyed the trilogy for the choreography, colours and other bits and pieces. Not exactly high art by any means, but they execute what they're aiming for quite well

              • @Faro:

but enjoyed the trilogy for the choreography

Yeah if anything the actors did gun/weapons training and especially Keanu took it very seriously so it shows in the movie. People have analyzed it and said Keanu is doing everything expertly correct and in the same way how professionals are trained. So in those sequences Keanu basically managed to translate the comic book's action and performed it perfectly as if John Wick in live action.

                • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: Yeah saw some yt videos of trained military professionals reaction videos. They agreed on the action that keanu did in the movie. Just like how they were trained or have trained people.

I guess Keanu did the hard yards to make the movies action scene as realistic as possible.

                  • @xoom:

I guess Keanu did the hard yards to make the movies action scene as realistic as possible.

                    Yeah he did good.

"Today I am reviewing the movie Die Hard. I did not expect so many people to die as hard as they did, and feel like there should have been some sort of warning. 3/10."

      • +1

Saw the movie scream. Too much screaming going on in the movie. Didn't expect it. 2/10.

        • +3

Saw sharknado. Too many sharks. 2/10 unwatchable

          • @Franc-T: Spoiler alert next time please. Now you have ruined the movie.

        • Saw the NEW scream movie. It was full of moaning instead of screaming. In every shot it was like they were getting railed from behind instead of being terrified. Probably trying to be more woke for 2023.
The makers are scammers no screaming. 0/10.

      • Lol I’m 2/3 into rewatching it after binging Brooklyn 99. No spoilers please!

  • +5

if you take this movie seriously it sucks, if you don't and watch it for a laugh, its an excellent movie

  • +5

Loved Lemon and Tangerine… The ending got a bit unrealistic but otherwise very much enjoyed!

  • +5

    Such a good movie

    • +2

Same. My expectations were low though and it by far exceeded them. Was a lot of fun.

  • Its an easy watch flick. I won’t rate it highly but its a pretty entertaining watch still.

  • Anyone know who has Miami Vice (80s series not movie)
Apparently FreeVee and TUBI has but not Australia. 9Now used to but removed it a few years ago.

  • +1

Prime video has been pretty shite the last 6 months!

    • +5

      Just keep rewatching The Expanse

      • The Expanse

What's that about? A british guy performing mukbang? 😂

      • +2

        Try "The Terror". Amazing show

      • Lols I’ve seen it twice!

    • +2

I only have prime for the free delivery anything else is just gravy

      • I only got prime for the grand tour, turns out I hated that show but kept it for the free delivery. Very worthwhile as a package though more so when they say they are going to deliver something = when its delivered unlike say ebay that can be five weeks for a seller 'in australia'

        • +1

          Tell me about it

I ordered a Blu Ray set from amazon UK on the 1st of March and it arrived here on the 7th of March

  • +5

    I think I spot a Diesel lurking here somewhere…

  • +3

I enjoyed it, Lemon and Tangerine carry the movie IMO.

    • I love those 2.

  • I had my pitchfork ready to go until I realised it wasn't a Marvel movie

  • +5

The NSW railway system has more mayhem than this movie. Nuthin' beats a true to life lol

  • Thanks! I can't wait to watch it after my backlog of other modern masterpieces:
    Antman and The Wasp QUANTUMANIA
    Cocaine Bear
The Meg (in preparation for Meg 2 this year. Should be good as well 🤞 )
    M3GAN
    Captain Marvel
    Knock at The Cabin

We truly are in a golden age of cinema!!
Was hoping to watch some footy tonight, but my roommate is watching some garbage called Citizen Kane. More like Citizen Kan you get off the TV while the Sharkies are playing. Am I right, fellas? 😎🦈

    • clever

      • Yeah cos I'm not a eel supporter ha ha ha
