After a number of cyclone and earthquake impacts in Vanuatu in just a few days, we want to make it a bit easier to keep in touch.

At a time like this, you don’t want to have to worry about the cost of a call to loved ones.

All calls to Vanuatu from Telstra home phones, post-paid and pre-paid mobiles are currently free, and will be until 11:59pm AEDT on Sunday 19 March 2023.

Please keep in mind when making calls that telecommunications infrastructure in Vanuatu has been impacted in some places by the recent cyclones. This means your call may not immediately go through due to potential damage and/or power issues.

Note - Free calls are from Australia only, and don’t include calls while roaming overseas.

    Sad but a reality, most people who have immigrated from developing nations can't afford Telstra. All Telcos should be extending this and Telstra should consider extending this to your pay phones too. The cost to them is nil on the balance sheet.

      The cost to Telstra exists as they need to pay roaming costs to third party countries.

    With this kinda situation where telcos keep offering free calling overseas, someone will surely wonder when disaster will come to Australia so telco gives free calling within Australia LoL.

    Where was such deal during all the Bushfires, or floods before in Australia?
