Logitech BRIO 500 Webcam (Rose) $89 Delivered @ ozonlinebuys eBay

260

I was looking for a Logitech webcam and found the BRIO 500.

From this review, it seems to be similar of Logitech c920 series webcam, but with USB-C cable.

Amazon has this at $139

Got a $10 voucher with eBay plus as well, no idea if itโ€™s targeted or not. Thanks OP, about time I replaced the cheap $80 one I got that was probably only worth $20 in reality when covid hit and webcam prices went crazy

Similar to c920 series? Not much improvement in the last 10 years…

  • Will JB Hifi price match it?

Just as an alternative to buying more webcams: if you have an iPhone and a phone mount, apps like Camo or Epoccam can turn it into a webcam that will probably be better than your built-in one. Both have free versions, but the Camo free version is limited to 720p and the Epoccam free version has a watermark. Camo pro is subscription-based (has a lifetime version for $80) while Epoccam is ~$12 one-time purchase. I personally use Camo free and the 720p is good enough for Zoom and heaps better than my built-in webcam.

If you have a MacBook, you can use "Continuity Camera" if you can run macOS Ventura and your iPhone is at least an XR. It's built-in so no need to pay for apps. I have not used it as I don't have the requirements, but it sounds nice. Annoying that they just don't include better webcams with their expensive Macs, but better than nothing I guess.

I'm sure there are equivalent apps for Android as well.

Those iPhone solutions for windows rarely work for corporate computers because of the firewall/VPN/ security settings stuffing the camera up.

Itโ€™s easier to just use a webcam or hook up a camera with Camlink.

      • This is true, Iโ€™m on a personal laptop for work right now.

Also you donโ€™t have to use wifi. You can connect iphone with cable to computer and this should bypass vpn/firewall but maybe there are other security that it cant bypass.

Will be super annoying if you need to interact with the phone during a video call or to answer an incoming call.

Just get a webcam, or stream from a digital camera.

      • Yea being off the phone is actually preferable for my meetings ๐Ÿ˜‚. But yes for most people getting a dedicated webcam is easiest. There are some scenarios like mine that it works well for

    • I'm sure there are equivalent apps for Android as well.

If I recall, Android 14 was getting the ability to emulate a proper UVC camera as well.

So… I guess Pixel users can look forward to that in in Q3 this year, and Samsung users in like February…

    • I am always on phone during work calls ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Darn my ozb alert went off, but I was looking for the Brio 4K

  • Nice first post OP! Keep it up ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Someone asked me at Officeworks if they need an USB adapter for this USB-C webcam, made a mistake without checking the specs properly and assumed that this one is similar to the regularly Brio with USB-C interface, including a detachable USB-C/USB-A cable.

Luckily she was not convinced and picked up a USB-C to USB-A adapter anyway. Think she had already made up her mind, was just looking for confirmation, good on her.
