Was thinking of how to get that $70 from the Cheddar deal, flicking through the Cheddar stores and saw they have BIG W. The normal cash back was not even worth a look but with the $70 spend requirement I know I can easily find something in BIG W. Worse case I will just renew my Bonds🤣🤣

Appliance was the obvious choice to start and immediately I saw this. Quick check on internet and BIG W already have the lowest current selling price. Been looking for a cheap steam oven so it a no brainer.

Delivery also quick, place order on Monday and delivered this morning. Did two test run but yet to test the steam function. So far not bad for $219. If you are not sure you are also safe guarded by BIG W 90 days return policy which by then I think you will already have the bonus cash back. (I am not encouraging this, only use when need to and please don't abuse it).

Just a note for those who are looking for steam ovens / steamer, this is the cheapest steam oven you can buy in the market right now. Next one up is the Panasonic which is three time the price (but I think its made in Japan)👍👍 then you start looking at four figures brands like Di Lusso, Miele…etc

Have had one of these for two years, use it daily and can not fault it.

    • What happened to it now? Still working?

I read somewhere there could be rusting issue if not clean properly, do you have that problem?

  • Have had for about 3 years. It's really good. Great for Chinese style steamed fish, too.

    • That is one main reason I was looking for a steam oven, can’t wait to try that super steam fish.

I think I can use it to make rice noodle rolls (chonfan) too.

      • Be mindful it does not produce quite as much steam as when you use a pot. But fish comes out great (soy sauce, Chinese wind, spring onion, garlic and ginger).

  • Mine stopped working. The buttons won't turn it on properly. I'm wondering if it's water damage. Maybe not good to keep the water tank filled if you're not using that function. Probably easy to fix but too fiddly to get to the inside panel. Too old for warranty.

  • Had for a few years. Never used steam, but it’s a great mini oven and grill. Airfyer has taken over a lot of its work though.

    • Funny I feel the other way… I can see it does everything air fryer does and more. Is a two year old Philips XXL worth anything?

  • I used this at my in laws… i was actually impressed with it.. it's a good unit

Too bad i already have an air fryer… and don't want to clutter the kitchen anymore…

Better than your regular air fryer imho

  • I find the steam function to be overly gentle - it takes a lot longer to steam something than if I were steaming it in a pot/rice cooker. I still use it, but just have to put things on earlier. Chinese buns come out great but dumpling skin can be a bit squishy.
