For a quarter a century old game the core Baldur's Gate game holds up so well.Once every other year I will reply the enhanced version of the sequel Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and highly recommend it to anybody looking for a fun, engrossing game.

Sound like something I'd be interested in (I don't need the latest and greatest). I'm looking forward to playing it. By the way, I think you mean replay, not reply (blame auto-correct, I always do).

Should try divinity 2, fantastic game.

        • Thanks, I'll check it out.

        • So many lost hours in divinity 2! Amazing game

          • @Contopaxi: BG3 coming out August - anyone played the early access??

It's great, but it's not the same.

I prefer the Sword Coast setting way more than Rivellon

Haven't played BG1 but have played BG2 (original) many times over as a teenager. Ah memories.

How about Dark Alliance II? My favourite.

      • That was a great couch coop ARPG. I spent way more time on Champions of Norath because of the 4 player vs 2 of BG DA2. Good times.

I still have the seven CD original

      • That cardboard folding box was pretty impressive. Changing disks constantly to load the maps less so.

Hi, I'm Noober. Nice place, huh?

Ever been to Baldur's Gate ?
      I've been to Baldur's Gate.

BG1 - so good! I played it through a couple of years ago, great times.

    • Same! Played on the fold3 last year

I am Fish…no thanks I'd rather play COD.

    • I am fish is amusing. Definitely can be frustrating trying to get the collectibles but overall good concept and something very different. Glad i played it

      • It was a joke

        cod

        fish

        • Oh whoosh. Nice one

      • Would kids enjoy it do you think?

        • I think there might be a way to co-op? Otherwise no, the controls are not kid friendly

What's with the staged releases? I prefer the bulk dump at the start of the month

It's a pain isn't it? More chance to miss some. Try to time your check-in on what's new when you do the weekly Epic freebie. Serves as a good reminder

BG1 is possibly the best game I've ever played. Have played through it many many times.

Great if you're into DnD or old school RPGs.

Hell yeah. Buttkicking for goodness since 1998!

    • I learned d&d rules playing BG1 which was handy years later. Definately a great game. I personally put BG II with xpac or torment above it but they are all great.

I haven't played BG but have played Nox which looks very similar to this by Westwood studios, published in 2000 as well. Would recommend for all you old school gamers.

    • Hidden gem that one. Also could try Revenant while you are there.

Go for the eyes Boo, GO FOR THE EYES!

    • 1337 of foot and all that

    • +1

Live by the sword, Live a good LONG time !

    • Butt-kicking for goodness!

  • Awesome

  • don't forget the Ascension mod :)

  • BG is on the Amazon games loader, not a GOG key. A bit surprised. No idea how many free prime loader games I have but never actually installed it

  • Once you have collected/claimed your game, does the games ever get removed from your account automatically?
Or once you have the games, they're yours for life….

    • until the service they're on shuts down (some games are through prime gaming, others are through other services)
