Waiting for a deal on a 1PB SSD that will fit my Steam Library
4bit MLC
I didn't know anybody was still making MLC drives targeting consumers… that's pretty cool. Pity this drive is way out of my budget.
I think you’re getting confused with the original 2-bit MLC which stored 2 bits per cell. Then there was TLC with three bits per cell and this is storing 4 bits per cell.
oh, of course. disappointing.
That's just what samsung calls QLC
Trust the seller to try and profit from the username ChatGPT.
I'm pretty sure @ChatGPT is just one of us, another regular user. He/she is not a store rep.
I wish Samsung would release an 8TB NVMe drive. And then drop the price for it to $500 or so (hey I want a bargain!). One day. Hopefully by then I wont need more than 8TB.
I assume these sata SSDs would be somewhat slower than an NVMe equivalent (in both bandwidth and latency)?
I don’t think they can physically fit 8tb on nvme.
4tb is already dual sided iirc
now how big is my steam library…
