Last time they were free i couldnt find a store that had them lol

    • +2

Use the store finder on their website, then filter the results by ticking the Smoothies & Frappes box.

    • +2

almost all around me have them now, so I'd double check now

    • +1

Definitely rolled out to more stores over the last 2 months

    • The store near my place just puts up the "machine in maintainance" sign everytime there's a promo

  • how does it compare to boost juice?

    • About one tenth of the ice that Boost Juice put in. Which is still quite a bit.

    • +3

Not the same, not fresh fruit. But then again, Boost only adds about a tablespoon of fresh fruit anyway. Most of Boosts flavour is from the flavoured yogurt and cheap fruit juice they add.

      • +1

So not true - at least in brissy. some stores you can see the whole process. I also know someone who managed one and she complained about how expensive some drinks were due to fruit prices. They are actually just fruit smoothies, not many additives. On the sunny coast their menus are specifically very low on additives

        • That is not true at all. A berry smoothie from Boost has a little fruit and flavoured yogurt and juice and ice.
They are not just blended up fruit at all. That’s Brisbane, Noosa and Gold Coast stores.

          • -2

@PVA: If you're ordering a berry yoghurt based smoothie obviously that's not the same as an organic option. You might as well order a milkshake and complain they use too much sugar 😂

Boost is wayyyy better, I've had most of the menu of both boost and 711. I enjoy both tbh, but basically you get what you pay for. a $13 smoothie from a good smoothie place is generally worth the money and very real, all natural etc. Boost is worse, but still good.

  • +7

    Actually pretty good imo

  • +8

The triple choc frappe was surprisingly good during the free promo. Smooth and not too sweet.

Partner got a smoothie from a different store and the machine didn't blend the ice properly. This resulted in a chunky icy drink that was not pleasant.

    • +2

That was my problem with the smoothie when I had.

    • Same problem

  • +1

Wish there was a closer 7-Eleven nearby 🥲

  • So do you need the app?

    • +1

Yes and can be used once a day too.

  • +3

Taste is ok but scum are constantly tweaking the machines. Less ice, less syrup etc. Always same story, only at the start it's all ok until they get you hooked.

  • just installed the app, not seeing the offer. :(

    • Same issue here. Has it appeared for you since?

      • not really, i can see thet a ad for $2 drink. but there's no way to redem it like the other offer the app has.

  • I've had this a couple times when they first released, and again on the free promo, and once more but that one didnt work out (they needed to refill something, so they let me chuck it).

The 3 times I did have it, its actually decent, I tried 3 different flavours and if you set your expectations to the fact it's an automatic machine, I think its pretty good.
I do wish it was like $3 standard as for the size and method I would say $4 is a bit much (I always get it if theres a deal on like this one), mainly because if you go to somewhere like zaraffas or the like, they do much better drinks for $5-6.

Either way, im getting one today at $2 so im happy :)

I love the mocha frappes. At $2 this is a bargain.

Also usually $4.50 according to my app

    • I tried this on after your comment & its quite good - thanks!

      • Hah no worries. I'm a big fan of frappes in general so they're all pretty good.

  • +1

Are these dispensed from a slurpee machine?

    • +2

No, they got separate machine for that. Some of the 7 11s don't have these machines.

    • +1

No, it like a kinda robot machine that makes them.

  • +1

I love the passion fruit one

  • It's satisfying watching the machine make the frappe. Some surprisingly intricate mechanical and systems engineering.

    • +2

Have to agree, although they could definitely work on the splash control, in my humble opinion.

    • -1

they are already constantly breaking down. will only get more useless as the machines get older. i give them another year at tops.

  • takes years to make so be prepared to wait if another person wants one as well

  • These machines are so bad. Always out of service, or doesn't blend properly, or doesn't add all the syrup, or the 7/11 staff have accidentally mixed up the syrups resulting in wrong/bad flavours.
Not just my local 7/11 either, it seems to be across the board. Had it once and loved it, now given up.

    • I misunderstood how it worked at first, held my cup out thinking it would dispense into it. Then it started sliding so I let go, but it wasn't aligned properly. Blades descended and chopped the cup to bits. There's no button to stop it, so I just had to watch it make a huge mess then sheepishly ask the staff for help.

      • +1

I have no idea how you can get it wrong. You just put the cup on the holder and let it do its thing

      • +2

Lol @ standing there and watching it make a mess

  • The frappe's were really good imo

  • +1

Had one picking up a car in campbelltown a couple weeks ago, gotta say its pretty bangin, but absolutely full of sugar so fair warning.

  • Does anyone know the difference between the smoothie and shake options on these machines? The flavours seem the same.

    • Smoothie tastes like a glorified slurpee to me, shake adds some sort of creamer (maybe long life milk or evaporated milk?)

  • these taste pretty shit just pure sugar syrup and ice + water

    • +2

      Always someone complaining and overreacting.

It taste perfectly fine. I’ll gladly buy another one at that price

      • Good for you

      • -2

but they are syrup, ice and water. and they do taste pretty shit.

        think its you overreacting.

  • Syrup and ice. Not a fan.

  • mine is usually 4.50

  • I have installed the 7-11 app..

It doesn't show in app exclusive offers , is it for same for everyone else ?
Anyone redeemed it ? How does it work.

    • Just scan barcode at checkout

      • Doesn't work if the particular offer isn't there. I just tried, and scanning still returned the full price

  • decent for $2

  • Lol machine not working Kent St Sydney store.

  • For the price, I''ve been enjoying them. THe choc ones are totally meh, but the fruit ones like the mago and passionfruit flavors and nice and great compared to a standard slushie. Not to be compared with boost or a proper smoothie bar serving raw ingredients. This is ice and sugar

  • Anyone know if any in the middle of Brisbane city have them? Store locator still says nah

  • Just got the tropical breakfast smoothie. Delicious, thanks OP 👌

    • Enjoy my friend :)

  • Checked my app today, it is now $3 and RRP has gone up to $4.50 lol
