If you missed the previous deal for body only, I think this might be better value

I have been doing a bit of research and was tossing up between Lumix S5ii vs Alpha A7iV but couldnt justify the additional price even though more glass options with Sony.

also interestingly, I called Ted's to do a pricematch, and apparently this was below their cost price. So thats how you know its good value I think

  • I am very keen to upgrade to this, however I am in no rush and I am fairly confident there will be a free lens offer at somepoint this year.
This is a very good price though if you 'need' it now.

  • I only wish there was a trade in deal for the s5. S5ii looks great (although the kit zoom is a bit mid).

    • Agree. Might try and sell and get the 50mm 1.8

  • From what I have read the S5 II is the best value camera out atm. I am curious to know how the Panasonic 20-60mm kit stacks up against the new Sony 20-70 F4 as they are both quite unique standard zooms being slightly wider than the normal 24-70. No doubt the Sony will be better lens, but as a package the Sony would be $1500+ more expensive… I am yet to find anyone directly comparing the two.

    • Ive seen the Sony A7iv kit lens for 4k, so 1k more expensive.

I know deep down I want the sony, but cant justify spending another 1k.

      • The 28-70 in that link is very basic and not comparable at all. The 20-60 Pana is def a sleeper for a kit lens.

No doubt the new Sony 20-70/4 mentioned is better again but it's also like $2k for lens alone so easy $5k+ kit even on sale.

      • @notbad on paper the S5 II is better value. But if you want the A7 IV, just get it.. you will never be happy with the S5 II

        • tbh im an absolute noob and both are way more than what I need it for (just my own marketing at my food busines)
figured I can learn on the job and save on paying people to take photos/videos

  • they have realised its actually being sold at a discount, its now $3178

    • I got it price matched at teds doncaster for 2988 if anyone wants it.

I put and paid an order at digi direct
