Best Pen's to Use at Work

I'm sick of using the cheap crappy pens we get at work so just wanna see what good ball point pen's all you professionals use

  • Professionals don't use pens but Big and Pilot would be my choice of pens.

    • Finally found the spokesperson for all professionals… sent you a PM

    Pen's what?

I use a Lamy Safari ballpoint myself. Uni Jetstream pens were popular in my old team.

    This, for sure…

You'll run out of ink fast with those superfluous apostrophes

They're not apostrophes, they're capital commas.

Best pen to use at work is one that is not yours.

Whoever left a brand new Lamy Safari Medium nib Rollerball pen in the stationery cupboard - kudos! Mine now

      • +1

That is a fancy pen. Good work!

Whoops. It was actually a fountain pen, not a rollerball one. But yeah definitely not something you'd find at Winc, so promptly nicked it to add to my Lamy Safari collection (so now have a mechanical pencil, a rollerball pen, an extra fine nib fountain pen and a ballpoint pen to go with the 'borrowed' medium nib fountain pen)

  • Can’t go past Rotring 600. Get it on sale.

Seriously hard to beat a BIC crystal or similar, honestly for the price they are a great pen

But if you want the best (and are prepared to spend money) UNI Jetstream

My favourite ball point pens are these Pilot pens: https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/pilot-bp-1…. There are a few different variations of the size of the ball, so definitely try out a few types if you are interested.
Alternatively, I love a 0.4mm Artline felt tip pen.
If you want to move into fountain pens I would suggest a Lamy.

  • I was given a carton of Micador's (78% Recycled) from the last election. Most were that bad, I threw them out.

Buy yourself a nice Parker pen. They aren't that expensive (~$30-50 for a decent one) and are really nice to use. Not sure why people keep recommending pencils to you on here.

  • Uni-Ball Signo Gel Grip Gel Pen

Not that I write that much but they seem to run out quickly, even before I lose them haha.

  • Go to Officeworks or a news agency and test which pen feels good in your hand??

  • I really like my Pentel Energel X pens - and so do many other people in my office when they see my pens…

  • I quite like the BIC Gelocity Quick Dry Retractable Gel Pen 0.7mm, $4.36 at Officeworks:

I can't seem to find anywhere that sells refills, though.

  • For a disposable, I’m a big fan of Mitsubishi Pencil Co.’s Power Tank. I can write upside down with it when I’m exhausted. But make it any colour other than black — I despise black

  • Anything that’s a medium ball, not a fine one. 0.7 or 1.0mm. And blue ink.
    These write well. https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/pentel-ene…

  • Pentel Energel X

  • I got a Waterman ballpoint from work and it's actually pretty good to write with. Weighty but with a nice balance and smooth rolling ball. I started using it when working from home started. Never used it at work in case I left it somewhere or it went walkabout.

I have been a more utilitarian pen user, using whatever is in the cupboard at work but i can now see the attraction of a good pen.

Waterman pens are great … except in Winter when it's like writing with a stick of ice
