  2. Select 6 people and 3 recipes per week to maximise the benefit

As others have mentioned in the comment, if you don't get the discount, keep cycling the referral codes or get it from someone.

  • My boxes arrived this morning…thanks OP

  • My account got deactivated…

Well not using these guys again!

    • Why deactivate?

  • Food delivered.
    I cancelled my plan.
You lose the credits after canceling.
So basically you can only use the credits after completing the meal plan deal (4 weeks)

    • i also deactivated my plan but credits still there. so worth checking with them

    • My credits are still there after deactivating and reactivating

      • can you use all your credit at once?

  • Delivery supposed to be today, it's almost 4pm here in Adelaide, and "Your box is being packed, We’re getting your box ready to be shipped" so hopefully I'll get it tomorrow !

    • Update : I just got the delivery, looks like the tracking hasn't been updated in between

      • How do you track it? I couldnt see any link on the confirmation email.

        • +2

they sent me a tracking link by sms but you can also find it in your account on their website

  • Received my box! Thanks alot op.

  • look forward to eating these in my adidas shoes and orange timberland jacket cheers OP!

  • Received my box today. Thanks OP.

  • Thanks OP, worked first try.

  • for those that receive their box, assuming most people did the 3 meals (18 servings), are you able to freeze the meat? Packaging says keep refrigerated

    • +2

      Is the meat from Mars?

      • nope. It says made in Australia

        • I believe all never slow-frozen meats can be frozen. It is the slow-freezing process that creates large ice crystal which breaks the meat structure (individual cell membranes) and make them go bad fast. Fresh/snap frozen ones should be safe to be frozen at home.

  • Got mine today and deactivated. Cheers OP

Box arrived today. All the fresh ingredients look like they're rejects from farmers market.

    • +1

Spinach was rotten, main reason I don’t buy week worth of food from these companies because greens wouldn’t survive.

      • +1

What area? We have been lucky (I guess?) we are on day 8 after last delivery and had to toss a few beans out of the bag. But other than that we haven’t had any issues.
We eat the “eat first” recipes first and then plan by use by dates of the meat.
We are also on our 3rd box now, and so far we have thrown 1 carrot out and a few beans (above) and one pack of the buns was a bit flat, but usable.

  • Box arrived today all ingredients look good veggies as well. PERTH Metro

    Cancelled plan cheers OP!

  • Let us know if this deal can be exploited for another free round?

  • Thanks OP mine has arrived and looks great overall. Cancelled and will try and order again next week with a new acct

  • How to get referred code?

  • got mine today. bonus another week of free meals once deactivated to keep us stay …

    • How does this work? Did you get a new offer? Or are you planning to use credits? I can't see a way around the further (small) discounts on the existing plan, or being restricted to a maximum $20 credits/box…

      • After first box, I live chatted and asked them to remove the active promo code. So I can use my credit towards the next box. I have $60 credit from referrals as my referral code seems to be a good one that gives the largest discount. Now I can use the full credit on my next box to get a smaller almost free one. I guess after that, I'll try deactivating and see if it offers a free 3rd one!

      • +1

Pressed the "deactivate" button and a popup message showed up. not sure if it is the same to everyone

        • Desktop or mobile?

          • +1

@Sweet3st: desktop and edge as I remember

"Are you want to leave? here is the $155 voucher" or similar

    • edit: turned out that this is part of the first free box and not another free box.

I had to chat with them to cancel.

They should have stated their pop-up promotional message more clearly to avoid confusion.

  • BEWARE**** I have just logged in to change my meals and my cheap week of meals has jumped to $150+ and they have no record of me signing up with a code.

  • This is essentially HelloFresh. The select cut of chicken and mince is terrible. Agree or disagree but wouldn't buy it again… and not at full cost.

  • So after you refer 10 people, the code becomes invalid? Any chance to extend that?

    • +2

as of today that is the maximum invite that the system allows, Rest assured I will forward your feedback to the Team so we can widen the capacity of the referrals.

      • Do you know if the meal plan is charged 1 week in advance? I could only choose Tuesday for delivery but I skipped the next 2 weeks delivery to make sure I didn't get charged again. Well I hope. I want to try it first before I fully commit to subscription…

  • Hi guys, I just joined the party and my first delivery will be on Sat, 11/3. And I have skipped delivery on 18/3. Is it safe to order on that day and cancel afterwards ?

  • +2

Got my box on Saturday, prepared my first meal today. Ingredients are great quality no problem at all, meat is perfect as well.

Super happy with this, and portions are good too!

    • Ditto. First meal tonight. Overall happy at this price, but don’t think I could justify normal price.

    • +2

Agree - received my box last Saturday was pleased with the quality and portion of the meals. Interest to see all the mixed reviews on this thread. This was an absolutely steal at $9.99. I have cancelled my subscription for now but I feel even at $100+ per order the value is there compared to my usual shop.

  • +1

Meal sizes are probably a bit small. Meal for 6 really only for 2 adults and 2 children. Quality seems ok. Seems $$$ for what you get.

    • Which meals? I made the crispy Indian chicken and it fed 2 adults, 2 kids, a dog, and I’ve got 3x frozen portions for leftover lunches.

Hoping the others aren’t small! I picked the 6x serve option to have lunch leftovers on purpose.

      • Same here, I only feed myself and basically meal preped with that same recipe. Cooked for 4 portions as followed on their ingredients lists. Definitely 4 portions, it is pretty generous I actually thought there was too much rice

      • Ah well I haven't cooked the meals yet. Just judging based on how much minced meat I normally buy to feed the family. Maybe we just have big eaters :D

        • The veg and other ingredients bulk up the serving size. I had beef tacos last night, and chicken & couscous the night before. All very filling.

  • +1

Fyi just confirmed through trying this out, you can cancel your subscription and still earn credits. I earnt another $20 last night so I reinstated my account so I can use the $60 on my next order. You do have to pay delivery fees though

  • I got mine on monday and deactivated. Good for $9.99 but for full price?…Naaaah

Still.. It stops me shoplifting tbones for the kids this week

    Thanks OP

  • I must be fat -__-
I eat 2 portions to feel full.

  • I stupidly ordered it for Tuesday (I remembered it in the post and thought I had to do Tuesday 🤦‍♂️). I also skipped the next 2 weeks delivery though. Does anyone know if they're still going to try and charge me for the 2nd delivery after I receive the first one or do they only charge you one week in advance and I will be fine? I'm tempted to cancel now to make sure I don't get charged $100+ next week 😬

    • did you pay with a debit card, if so just have no money on it on tuesday

    • +2

Most of us just cancelled subscription when we received the box but I believe you can skip for 3 weeks at a time.

did you pay with a debit card, if so just have no money on it on tuesday

Don't do this. They'll keep sending you the boxes and eventually send debt collectors after you. Deactivate your account if you don't want any boxes.

      • Do I deactivate it now or on tuesday when I receive the food? If I like it I don't want 18 meals per week and really don't want to be charged $100+. Ultimately I just need to know if they charge one week in advance which is what they make it seem like on their website. I have skipped week 2 and week 3 deliveries which means I wont be charged on tuesday after I get my food, right?

        • +2

My box is coming today and I have the next 2 deliveries skipped. Planning to cancel when it arrives.

You should be safe if your next 2 delivery has been skipped too. Just make sure to cancel when you receive it.

    • Are you using different email address and phone number? Not sure if they check address but shouldnt since multiple people can live in 1 address.

  • i somehow got the box on wednesday, cancelled wednesday night, and then today got charged 99.99 for another box. what did i do wrong?

    • only had $50 on my debit card also, but its now in negative 49.99$

    • +1

When you order 1st box, you need to skip 2nd and 3rd delivery to give you more time to before the charge.

      • How do you do this?!

        • very easily on desktop ahaha

when you're choosing your meal, you can click into week 2/3 and then skip.

  • Did anyone figure out how to cancel? I cannot see an option in the app.

  • Do you need to keep the plan going to keep receiving referrals?

  • Signed up again in partners name, same address. Used paypal as payment this time, not sure if it would have complained if I used the same card. Will do the same for the hellofresh one the week after… Wonder how low we can get our grocery bill this month.

  • +2

    First delivery came .
    $80 credit there still .
    Do I adjust to 4 people 3 meals a week which is Dinner for 4 (3 recipes/week) ?
    $80.00
    Shipping
    $9.99
    Weekly total
    $89.99
    Or cancel ?

    • I'm unsure as well. The following week shows up with a $15 discount for me.
On the credit balance page it says "Unfortunately, they can't be applied to shipping fees or discounted orders."
So not sure it's actually going to use the credit.

    • I updated mine to 3 meals for 2 people as I think that will allow me to spread the credit for longer.

I also have skipped as far ahead as possible, as there was plenty of food in the first order to keep me going for a while

So will only start eating into credit in a few weeks. I may have to spend some real $ on the final order but for my circumstances that's ok if it's under $20 or so

  • +1

got charged for 2nd order due to the "discount", I have talked to live chat to have the discount removed for the 3rd week. This should enable the credit to be used on my account. Not a positive experience.

    • How do you check if a discount will apply?

      • It will show you on your upcoming order charge eg discount $15

        • Ok cool looks like mine doesn't have a discount so I should be good to use my credits

          • @0 0 0: also if you select premium meals there will be a separate charge for that and credit can not cover that premium charge, because credit can only cover the actual cost of the box.

            According to live chat.

  • +2

You can deactivate and reactivate to cancel the discount instead. When I went to deactivate it offered first $40, then $60 'bonus' to stay, but you can't have discount and bonus at the same time I don't think? Anyway I deactivated and can now use my credit.

  • Received my box and we had our first meal tonight and it was actually quite nice and thought everything included for the other days were fresh and portions okay, I’m in Perth

I have a few referral credits already so hoping to get another box discounted before I cancel as its till pretty over priced

    Thanks OP

  • Just wondering, anyone got the second free meal with the referral credits?

    • I had to chat to someone on the live chat and get them to manually remove the existing new customer discount so my referral credit can be used instead

  • Despite the desire to get the meals for free, would it not be worth it to get 6 recipes instead of 3?

So for $55 more, you double your food quantity.

Each to their own I guess, but it doesn't seem particularly bad value..

    • +2

So for $55 more, you double your food quantity.

$55 more, which is more than 5 times the price of $9.99 to get double the food

Easier to sign up again with new email/number and use your own referral code.

      • Well I am actually asking the question in the context of making a second order using my referral credit.

So the question is, are 3 meals (18 portions) worth $55?

Easier to sign up again with

Well you might find that more difficult than you think but even if you could, the equation still applies.. as you could opt for 6 meals in both accounts.

        • +1

          6 people x 3 recipes = 18 meals
          Total cost $9.99 = $0.555 per meal.

          6 people x 6 recipes = 36 meals
          Total cost $65 = $1.80 per meal.

You are paying 3 times more per meal if you opt for the 6 people 6 recipes plan.

      • Were you able to sign up again with a new email/number? I keep getting the error: "We're sorry, this voucher can't be added to this order. If you want to proceed with your order, please remove it."

        • I haven't tried yet since I'm moving onto hellofresh deal ahaha

          • @inasero: Email/Number change didn't work for me, only address change. So I used a mate's place.

  • -1

Received mine, first time im trying one of these DIY meal kits,
couldnt work out how much ingredients were for 2 or 4 portions, as the number of ingredients didnt work but assumed i had counted wrong

    but when I tried this
    https://i.ibb.co/bsDj9Gm/20230311-113052.jpg

how dodgy/deceptive, you use the same amount of the most expensive beef for 2portions vs 4 portions,

Full price At $6.60ish per portion is quite decent , if I was super time poor, sucked at cooking, i probably would, not sure how it stacks up against other programs
but for $9.99 for 18 meals, its a bargain

    • +4

you use the same amount of the most expensive beef for 2portions vs 4 portions

You do not. The pre-packaged meat come in smaller 230g as well as 460g.

If you got the 6 person meal, you will use 2 people + 4 people ingredient.

      • i just checked, you are 100% right!

        well spotted :)

        I retract my criticism
        still very happy :)

  • Anybody getting "We're sorry, this voucher can't be added to this order. If you want to proceed with your order, please remove it." error? It won't let me use the voucher

      • +1

How many addresses do you have?

    • I'm getting that message too. Have you worked out what it could be yet?

  • Hi I have placed order and cancelled after receiving first order and haven't received 2nd and third week orders so do I need to cancel after first delivery or after the third delivery thank you
