  • Just FYI, this is PCIE 3. I couldn't see it stated anywhere on Amazon.
Only matters for people specifically chasing gen 4, like PS5 owner?

Great price and great speeds though.

  • I'd rather get WD SN570, much cheaper and local warranty.

    • got a link?

    • Not sure why the negs when you’re stating facts. Was too good to not pull the trigger on it the other day with the SB Westpac cashback, ~$50 after factoring in cashback, $20 gift card and eBay gift cards at 10% off.

  • Is this any good for $86? Kingston - NV2 M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe 1TB

It's ok for what it is, but you do get what you pay for in terms of transfer speed. If you have large files to transfer regularly a higher spec gen 4x4 will be better…ot all gen 4x4 are created equal. Samsungs are class leaders in that respect, hence the premium.

If you are not needing to read write large files ..ie. a web browsing machine, a YouTube watching machine, then this is good enough.

  • does the 2nd slot of the m.2 under the motherboard affect the speed of the GPU someone told me it uses the same bus or pcie bandwidth or something along those lines

    • It depends on the motherboard - you need to consult your motherboard manual to find out.

e.g. on some motherboards the second M.2 slot is slower - e.g. primary slot will be pci-e 4.0, secondary slot will be pci-e 3.0. Other motherboards will have two pci-e 4.0 slots, so both will run at full speed.

Similar for older pci-e 3.0 motherboards - e.g. mine runs the second slot at pci-e 2.0 x4 - still a ton faster than SATA ssd.
