Just remember Enviro is designed for low Sulphur fuels. Thats why its TBN isnt amazing. Its really strange they sell it in AU, because all our fuel is quite high in it, compared to the world.
So stick with "premium" diesel while its in there.
If you like penrite 5w40, try and get a deal on HPR5 next time.
HPR5 isn't for DPF equipped diesels though. If you don't have a DPF then HPR5 is one of the best oils you can put in it.
Yeah, the line to meet low SAPS ratings is so strict though.
Ive been running HPR5 is all the TDI golf's I service, and none of the DPF's are regenerating any more often than usual.
You're right, but I feel the negatives are overblown.
lol its refusing to sell me more then one.
"This item isn't available in the requested quantity. It may have been purchased already, or the listing has expired."
Good price for SN api
Tailored for smoother acceleration.
If not it's the fault of your foot.Mobil One vs Mobil Super
https://mrtonneau.com/mobil-super-vs-mobil-1/That article suggests Mobil super is a synthetic blended oil.
The bottle says it's full syntheticPoint taken. However, apparently Mobil now have a way of modifying mineral oil which they then call synthetic. Not all Mobil synthetic oils are the same. Just trying to say Mobil Super is not Mobile One.
Agreed, this oil only meets MB229.3, which is a short drain spec. Mobil 1 0W-40 meets MB229.5 which is long drain, and MB229.5 are the best oils you can get (if they are suitable for your vehicle).
https://operatingfluids.mercedes-benz.com/sheet/229.5/enIts a dick move by Mobil.
They're the ones who took the API to court because group 3 hydrocracked base oils arent naturally in the ground, so "they're synthetic".
They did it to make their Mobil1 oils look better on shelf.
They're not originally….they're modified dino oil.
They're NOT a PAO or esther oil, like a true synthetic.
Nothing wrong with Group3 under normal use, its just nowhere near as shear stable as a group4 or 5 oil.
What a ball ache to order, got one for $32 click and collect then ended up getting another 3 delivered for $37.75 each with ebay plus coupon. So many attempts resulted in errors I think they changed the price and maybe my chosen store didnt have stock. Just tried again and got another click and collect for $35 with ebay plus coupon
Ebay's click & collect is b0rked, has been for at least 2 years. With 1 item it's possible to checkout if you retry a few times but don't even bother trying if you have more than 1 item. I reported this to ebay long ago but nothing has happened.
this is a great deal, but i don't change my oil anymore. i think i get free servicing for the next 5 years. then i have to start buying this again.
stock up now
lmao, i going to gamble and take a chance that something will pop up again in 5 years when i have to start changing my own oil. I would hate to let it sit in the hot garage for many many years.
you could have stopped at "this is a great deal"
Full Synthetic is a mineral oil and is a GRADE 3 oil. Grades 1 (mineral), grade 2 (semi-synthetic) and grade 3 (full synthetic) are all mineral oils.
If you seek a genuine synthetic oil, then you need to buy 100% Synthetic, which is a Grade 4 oil.
Thanks, learned something new. Although 100% and full seems to be the same.

Above page has a link which explains groups 1-5
