Long time lurker, first time poster.
A repeat of Black Friday's deal.
I finally decided to jump on the eneloop bandwagon. Just need to wait for some battery deals.

I spent a while looking at chargers, and decided it was worth spending about ten bucks more and getting an Xtar VC4SL. Why? Because it can also charge other battery types (lipo etc) and also very usefully it can 'grade' the batteries - ie test drain & refill them to tell you their mAh capacity. Tell which of your old batteries are the best, or which cheapie battery brands are true to their claimed capacity, etc. It's been very useful so far!
This one is not bad. "Xtar shows some good ideas in this charger, but the automatic current selection is not always perfect, for people that has many LiIon batteries the store function will help prolong the life of unused cells." for full review and testing check out this https://lygte-info.dk/review/Review%20Charger%20Xtar%20VC4S%…
That's a very thorough review site.. note though the model I linked to is an upgrade from the model reviewed there. They claim to have improved a few things
Oh b*lls. Wish you'd posted that before I bought this - the ability to charge C and D size batteries would be desirable.
After I missed this Panasonic deal at Christmas, I think I consoled myself that it wasn't the ideal charger and I'd be better off finding something more versatile.
Pity I had forgotten that when i saw this deal pop up again. Oh well, at least it will be better than my overnight charger (about 12 years old) using a UK-AU adapter plug.
Don't worry, maybe in another decade when your new charger dies, you'll be just in time to get one that does the next battery chemistry (solid state?)
Looks good https://lygte-info.dk/review/Review%20Charger%20Panasonic%20… It actually has four independent charging circuits which is better then most.
Yes separate circuits is important.. I was happy with my Panasonic bc-mqr06 until it died last week (after about 8 years?).
8 AA and 4 AAA including the charger currently on special for $47.99 @ Costco.
Thanks, just keep in mind that appears to be the overnight basic charger.
Seems like this is the on going 'sale' price? Is it possible it'll drop even lower in 3-6 months time?
How long does it take to charge 2 x AA batteries?
It's on the second Amazon picture >:|
It's also on the first picture, top right of the package, although that differs from the time given on the second picture!
First picture (package front) "Charging Time 1.5 hrs approx. AA 2cells"
Second picture (chart): "eneloop AA: 1pc/2pcs: 2 hrs"
550ma X 4 batteries, not awesome, not bad. 2 hours
How is this a deal $20 worth of batteries and a $15 charger that can’t even charge Lipo waste of space better to get a proper charger
Not all of us need to charge LiPo batteries.
Also be very careful when charging lipo batteries. There is a small fire risk etc.
That's true. I'm nervous even when charging Eneloops, which are relatively safe. I wouldn't trust a $15 charger to charge LiIon/LiPo batteries.
This is a $15 charger?
Where at?
Eneloops 4pk ~$20 (less with S&S)
This very useless charger $35 - $20 = $15
I have another useless Varta charger
By the way you can get 8x eneloop pros for $33 but we all need as many chargers as we can get /s
As to why there is a subscribe option for a charger bundle is anybody's guess. Don't know why you'd need a new charger every month when it's not a consumable.
Well, I had asked a genuine question, so I appreciate your answer, but it seems there's a few flaws with your reply.
The 'charger plus batteries' price is $35 after S&S; you've stated the batteries are less than $20 with S&S yet priced them at $20 to suit your answer.
While that might be nitpicking over a couple of dollars, you've also overlooked that the regular price (on Amazon and elsewhere) is $79 - so why have you not used that price less the price of the batteries to calculate the value of the charger?
But if you can't buy the charger without the batteries, then it's irrelevant deducting the value of the batteries isn't it? The batteries could be free with a $79 charger couldn't they?
@sam buster: For me the charger is worthless especially since as the average ozbargainer buying a LED torch I have LiPo batteries
Even if I didn’t have one I’d buy a Nitecore or similar charger which could do everything for around $40-60
I’d rather get more eneloop pros for the difference
Always about Lipo for the fatties.
be very careful
a small fire risk
Shouldn't we be "a little careful" if the risk is small?
jk obviously.
Or not careful at all. Just charge away your lipos when you are not at home etc.
Any suggestions for a reliable smart charger that can tell me the health of a battery as well without breaking the bank?
I just bought this one https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07L8LW9NG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_…
It has some really good features https://lygte-info.dk/review/Review%20Charger%20Nitecore%20U…
How does subscribe & save work?
Do they send you a new item (ie charge) every two months (or whichever time frame you select)? I notice it says prices may change!
You can cancel the subscription after you receive the item.
Thanks.
Nice pic
How long do the batteries last?
Looking for a deal on batteries of anyone has any suggestions?
Thanks OP bought 5 for family and friends. This is an easy to use quick charger with a cool led strip indicator that turns green when charged.
tagging on … there seems to be no Enloop 9 volt rechargeable batteries & re-chargers and am still confused after reading https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/375669. Is there an OzBargain recommendation for this evolutionary dead-end of a battery?
Can anyone explain the difference between this deal and the $25 one at ikea with Ladda batteries and charger? Are they better?
I don't think there is any difference…
Ok thanks
Ikea's STENKOL charger is not as good. When tested, it took half an hour to detect that fully-charged batteries had been inserted. This means it's poor at detecting when to stop charging, and likely to overcharge your batteries, which permanently damages them.
The charger in this deal takes just under ten minutes to detect when a fully-charged battery has been installed, which is moderately good. For comparison, a Liitokala Lii-500 charger takes about four minutes.
I see. Thanks.
Pretty happy with how much faster it is than my old recharger.

Is this the good charger from eneloop?
