A much better deal for $4 more?
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/75612

    • It's very hard to find hard drive reliability statistics but this is worth reading:

      http://www.behardware.com/articles/843-6/components-returns-…

Occasionally Seagate has issues (eg. a certain model of 7200.11 160 GB and some of the Expansion portable series with the click-of-death) but I'd buy the GoFlex over Hitachi.

  • This is USB 2.0 I understand?

    • +1

      They ARE USB 3.0!

The description makes it sound like it's only USB 2.0. Here is a USB 3.0 Seagate 750GB for $2 more: http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XM2188/seagate-expansion-750…

    • Different model!
The GoFlex are better drives than their Expansion range!

        How so?
USB 3.0 > USB 2.0 in terms of speed.

        • How so?

Because the Goflex are premium range and the one on offer are also USB 3.0!

    • Now, it's only $69!

  • True to it's name, the Seagate External 750GB GoFlex Hard Drive is…

    A Seagate 750GB External Hard Drive !!!

Gosh the marketing spin is stupid on these "copy and paste" deal descriptions.

Anyway this is not really a good deal - sounds like it's only USB 2.0, and as others have already mentioned there's some better deals about (like the Hitachi 1TB for $101 delivered).

  • JB Hifi has the WD Passport version for the same price. Not saying one is better than the other, just giving an alternative.

  • Cheaper alternative (only $69) http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XM2188/seagate-expansion-750…
Submitted a new deal on this, but not showing… oh well

Still prefer the Goflex for $30 more but local HN has none in stock.

  • Got this last night from HN QV melbourne for $98.

Run transfer speed with seagate thunderbolt adapter, and surprisingly run FASTER than 2.5" Hitachi 500GB 7200RPM (apple stock hdd), which connected through SATA connector through seagate thunderbolt adapter…

    Love this!!!
