4Tb nvme drives cost similar. Any major difference between NVME and SSD currently given it is used as secondary drive.?
NVMe might be marginally faster at loading than a SATA SSD in some games.
If direct storage takes off then the higher speeds and better responsiveness of the NVMe may be a bigger factor
So if you have a spare NVMe slot on your motherboard, I would get an NVMe over a SATA ssd just because it’s more future proof
Space considerations also. No need to cable manage. Just strap it in and you're ready to go.
The two form factors are not interchangeable - if you have no spare NVMe connectors for example, then you'll need a SATA drive.
If your laptop only has NVMe slots, then don't buy a SATA drive.
