  • How quick to inflate a car tyre?

    • What size tyre and what pressure?

      • and output of 12V socket (which can vary in some cars).

        • +3

Output of the socket has nothing to do with it, they are all 12v (maybe 24v)

They may be fused at 10A, 15A or something around that however that won't change how fast the compressor works.

          • @spaceflight: " socket has nothing to do with it"

Yes it does, as can easily be ascertained by using one - then plugging it in. You may as well say one can plug a notebook into a USB slot to charge it, as they are all a nominal 5V.

The amperage the motor can draw can make a big difference to how well it performs, especially as the workload increases as the pressure it is pushing against does.

            • @terrys:

              Yes it does

              No, it doesn't.

The socket has nothing to do with the current output of the socket.

Your socket could be fused at 50 amps and the pump would still work exactly the same compared to a car with a typical 10 amp fused socket.

The pump is designed to draw no more than 10 amps, which is even in the specifications if you bothered to look.

The amperage the motor can draw can make a big difference to how well it performs

Yes the current the motor draws will impact how fast it works.

But as I said, that has nothing to do with the socket (or your car).

This pump will work exactly the same irrespective of what car you plug it into.

Do you walk around your house plugging your laptop charger into different power points to see which one is faster?

      • Standard car tyre size 36psi

        • +2

Measured in standard pieces of string per parsec too?

        • Standard car tyre size

There is no standard tyre size.

          All cars are different.

  • This seems to be unavailable in all of the Victorian stores that I’ve checked. Unavailable for delivery also.

  • +5

I managed to grab one ages ago for $10. It's a fantastic device. Tops up a car tyre in less than a minute. Never have to go to the servo to do this anymore.

    • Does it have a gauge to stop filling after a certain PSI is reached?

      • No but the digital LED display indicates PSI

  • +1

How does this compare to the Xiaomi Mi Electric Portable Air Pump?

    • Had the battery die in 2 Xiaomi's so hopefully better

  • Can you set and it cuts off when it reaches desired psi/bar?

    • No it just displays the pressure

  • Cant seem to even purchase to have delivered from a store that has stock. Out of stock almost everywhere

  • +4

    Thanks. Bought 1 in Brisbane.
Had a $10 voucher from free OnePass trial. Also picked up a free coffee.

Had a $20 basic one from Kmart. Hose between compressor & tyres perished - after about 20yrs. About time to replace!
Rarely used, but handy to have.

    • So much quieter than the cheap mini compressor it replaced at similar price. Digital pressure gauge is much easier to read than its analog one. Plenty of adaptors, large on/off button & light are a bonus.
      Happy with this bargain👍

I would much prefer a 240v compressor as I don't want the kids crawling through my ca r - primarily used for basketballs and occasional car tire top up. Does anyone have any suggestions? My old ozito just died.

Bunnings have an AEG quiet compressor for $900. I've found that to be good

    • I have the PXC Hybrid Inflator, runs on 18v PXC battery or 240v mains.
2-3 years of ownership and bimonthly tire checkup on 2 cars.

not as cheap as this at around $60, but it is a very good unit.

it can do volume (low pressure) as well.

      it is loud.

      • I’ve been looking for the PXC hybrid, but it looks like it might be discontinued.

The Bunnings link from the product page goes nowhere.

        https://ozito.com.au/products/hybrid-inflator-deflator/

      • Price was around $89 for a while, then went up to $94 last year. I managed to get one during this half price sale for $49.50. I'm very happy with it.

        • @random-user I managed to find this product on the Bunnings website but it doesn't seem to have the 240V option anymore.

  • Any easy way to use this off mains power? Some sort of adapter?

    • +1

Yeah you can get 240v to 12v cigarette socket adapters - ebay, amazon, jaycar, etc… Just check the amp rating.

    • With my old 12V mini compressor, used a scrounged car 6A battery charger. Wired it to lighter socket. Voltage dropped safely to just over 12V in operation. A good free set up that's worked well for years.

  • Can it fill an inflated tire from 0 to, say, 33 psi?

I see stock in VIC around me place.

    • +1

      Yes

    • +1

It could. It's just a matter of how long it will take.
Also it could get very hot which isn't good for life span.

  • One of my most proudest ozbargain deals was way back in early 2011 or 2012. It was $1 or $2 air compressor from Tandy's or Dick Smith. Raced down to Robina Town Centre and flogged 2. One's died but the other is still going strong.

  • Still shows in stock at some stores for c&c (eg in Brisbane)

    • Click on the report to remove the expired.

    • Just asked in store: 7 at Manly West, Brisbane.

  • Just ordered from Marion (SA) so this deal is not 'expired'. Thanks.

  • Can it do presta valves? The pictures of the adaptors isn't helpful

  • Bought this one last year Ryobi 18V ONE+ Digital Pressure Inflator - Skin Only, $99 Bunnigs but $66.85 at amazon au, which Bunnings could match. Top and reliable quality.

    • Same, except I got a Makita… I don't like to leave it in the car though because of battery degradation.

  • +1

Silly question - can this be used as some form of dust sprayer, so I can clean my computer case and keyboard? Cheers

    • Or as airbrush compressor, since the psi is more than enough ( only need 40-50 psi )

  • Let's hope that the staff can get to the single unit on the shelf I ordered C&C before some quick member of the public spots it.

    • Like many other business's c&c systems, if customer buys in store before staff get around to putting aside - you can miss out.
      Might be worth a call!

That's why I rang store soon after Deal was posted. They were happy to put 1 aside to collect. Explained as was paying with (free $10) gift card, couldn't use c&c.
Store still had 7 left 3hr later when I collected.

      • They had one listed - the reply and confirmation it was available came within 1/2 an hour :-)

I've got a 120 PSI torch one anyway but need one for the community center ute which for some unfathomable reason someone pimped out with mags - and one is porous.

  • +1

I picked up the last one from Northland bunnings. It's loud and slow but does exactly what it's supposed to. I got one to keep in the car to pump up the space saver if I ever need to. I noticed some enterprising ozbargainer had had five put aside to pick up later today.

    • +1

      Broden lives…

    • Used it today - so much quieter than the cheap mini compressor it replaced at similar price. Plenty of adaptors & light is a bonus.
