    60k flybuys = $300
    So that's $300 - $99 AF = $201 profit ?

    Price protection?

    • Not the 2 year one, but I remember they released another insurance after the CITI takeover. Just that it was crap in comparison

      • yup its a very watered down version of what it used to be unfortunately

    • Missed 28 Degrees (i had the card but somehow missed opting in!), Missed Coles, still waiting to get it if it's ever around again…

      • Did 28 degrees have price protection? When was it phased out?

        • They had price protection for a year after purchase, also merchandise protection for lost or accidental damage. It was phased out around 2019 I think. Glad I did opt in when I got the chance. Quite convenient to just buy thing you need and do the price match later when it goes on sale.

    30k velocity points. Poor.

Only worth considering if have a big trip soon and want to leverage the no overseas currency fees when on hols

Upvote anyway, as at least there is a bonus.

    • its flybuys points and not velocity points. i believe 1 flybuys point = 0.5 velocity points

      • 60k x 0.5 = 30k

Best to go with the upcoming prepaid Mastercard deal, (only if you in NSW tho) which sucks very much

These deals getting that bad now?
The last time I signed up for a Coles credit card it was 3k spend for 120k flybuys points.

    • Yeah, and the fee free one used to be 40,000 Flybuys Points with $1500 Spend

  • how about previous customers? any restrictions say for example no eligible for customers who had this card in the last xx months

    • Can't see any such conditions in the T&C.

    Still no Google Pay…

    • Yeah I have been using one for a few years. Yet citibank (they manage this card for Coles) refused to add this card to google pay. I am hoping NAB can do something now as they took it over.

Samsung pay works if it helps..

    • If you a Zip user, you can your instore card with Google Pay

    • That shat me off a lot when I first got it.
But I got a Samsung watch 4 recently however i don't have a Samsung phone so couldn't natively put my CC on my watch.

But there are ways around that, just Downloading the .APK file for the Samsung pay app and jumping a few hoops and you can put it in.
      Works flawlessly now for me.

    • I was with Coles CC for many years. Still no Google Pay so I switched. The tin foil hat in me thinks Coles CC struck an "exclusive deal" with Samsung Pay that prevents other payment platforms on Google.

  • Anyone applied for these recently and know if they do the citi bonus gift card offers too?

  • Good for getting 2 points per $1 for fuel.

  • I applied for this card in late December and have had it since then.
Did I seriously just miss this offer?!
Wonder if I can chat to the support staff about it.

    • Actually, am I blind or have they removed the 15 month interest free period for retail purchases on these cards? I got the Rewards card and it had the interest free period.
Can't seem to find it on this page anymore?

      • +1

That's the deal they had running up until 31/01, which is what you got when you applied for yours. They change them every three or so months

      • Werent there 10000 bones points with 15 months interest free on top of it? I also hot it last month but can find the offer conditions anymore anywhere.

DYOR; look up the reviews on Coles Mastercard at productreview.com.au and be informed.

My first-hand experience with this product is that the call centre (admittedly under Citi) was very unhelpful and difficult to deal with when something goes wrong (ie. fraudulent charges) and I am not alone.

  • doesnt make sense the 2 cards with different bonus has the same spending requirement.

  • You will receive 60,000 Bonus Flybuys Points when you apply for a Coles Rewards Mastercard by 30 April 2023, are approved and then spend $3,000 or more on eligible purchases (excludes Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, BPAY payments, purchases of foreign currency and travellers cheques, transactions made in operating a business, bank fees and charges such as interest and ATM charges) in the first 90 days of the Account approval date

    • if only bpay is included.. ah i have too much bpay bills

      • Pro tip: use Beem (previously BeemIt) to pay bills.

        • ?
Are you saying link the card to beem thrn use beem to pay bill? So the coles will see those as eligible purchases for the bonus?

Sorry I don't know anything about beem

      • if it is Citi, they have PayAll payments which give you all the bonuses and temporarily for free
        https://www1.citibank.com.au/offers-benefits/PayAll1
although not sure it is available on this card or not

        • nope that is for citi card only. no other bank is stupid enough to run that kind of promo.

  • I think this is a pretty good deal, in light of the dearth of offers around. I'm going to apply, but in April.

I've had my Coles Mastercard for ~10 years (since it was latitude) and they are pretty decent. Each year I whinge the fee is too high and another bank has a better deal and for the last 7 years I've paid nothing (I think my fee is $129). It's also a great way to rack up flybuys points for those not into velocity or Qantas rewards.

I've disputed 2 transactions in this time (1 under Lattitude and 1 under Citi bank) and they were slow af. Both times they blamed the other parties bank (I don't know if that's the truth), but 1 item they just refunded me $300 and the other I had to return the item and they refunded shortly after (~4 months from complaint to resolution). They will also credit you straight away at the time of complaint, so you don't pay interest on the debt.

Recently they have started giving extended warranties and some insurance coverage for items purchased with your card. Haven't fully read into it, but it was automictically applied to my account (platinum holder).

    • I got my first card recently, wasn't sure if I could whinge about the annual fee or anything, glad to konw i can complain and get it lowered or removed haha.

      • +3

They don't seem to care much at all. They always state "because of your loyalty, we are willing to waive the annual fee, as a one off". I've had them waive for the last 7 annual fees. Another line I've used about a late monthly fee (happened maybe 3 times now) is "I make a lot of purchases, to which you earn transactions fees on each. I am more than happy to switch to another bank, if you still wish to proceed with this stupid additional charge".

Basically, they'll do anything to keep you happy as long as your account is in good standing.

  • Can I get this if I had a normal NAB card last year?

  • Any idea if you can apply for this if you are hold a current Coles No Annual Fee MasterCard?
