    This oil is rated SL for petrol engines. Check your manual to find your required rating. If the second letter is closer to A (ie. SJ) it will be fine as long as the 15w-40 viscosity is suitable (should be a chart for this with temperature ranges in the manual also).

    SL rated oils; even in newer vehicles it'll only shorten the life of your cat, it won't break the engine. It's fine for a fill or two if money is tight.
    
    But I'd take TopDog XDO over this anyway.
