So I thought I find a beer deal.
About white rabbit, I did try their dark ale before but I haven't tried these hot ginger dark ale. Considering it's a craft beer and considering the cpi today, I think a 40% off original price is a good deal. As always enjoy responsibly.

Thought it had something to do with the candy, so clicked on the deal …

  • Out of Stock already.
    Sounds interesting

    • It shows that you can still buy.

      • Nope, one additional carton sold since I last checked.

        • That's odd. Shows add to cart or buy now. But when I click on it, it says something went wrong.

        • Thanks OP. Sorry guys, I bought the second last :(

  • after just getting through my 4 cartons of OZB ginger beer im not taking another risk.

    • Copy paste from the description: The malt driven and chocolate notes from our Dark Ale are enriched by an infusion of hot ginger root and the subtle spicy aromatic of Sichuan pepper. This unconventional flavour experience offers up hints of cola lollies and spiced chocolate, and is sure to tingle the tastebuds. Perfectly balanced to ignite and intrigue. Hops: Pacifica, Rakau, Sticklebract, Tas Cluster Malts: Pale, Wheat, Munich, De-Husked Roasted Barley, Midnight Wheat, Dark Crystal

That wasn't the Dingo one was it? I still haven't finished my 2 cartons…

      • yeah mate bloody horrible stuff isn't it. I ended up with another two from first choice can't remember the name but they were 8% which made them slightly more bearable

        • Yup, gross.
I would only get them again if they were free. Struggling to even give them away, after 1 no one wants another.

    @Scrooge McDeal It's not a craft beer

    • And why it's not? I had White Rabbit beers before and I know they are craft beers. The description says it's craft beer

      • Its not considered a craft beer as the brand is owned by Lion Nathan. Like many "breweries" at Dans etc they are just craft labels.

Now White Rabbit do have some latitude in what they brew and how they brew it. But they are still a macro brewery.

The definition of craft beer it's changing. Craft beer it used to be beer made by microbreweries ( small breweries) They used to produce smaller amounts of beer, typically less than large breweries, and were often independently owned. Such breweries are generally perceived and marketed as having an emphasis on enthusiasm, new flavours, and varied brewing techniques. But now macrobreweries have bought out microbreweries but they are still considered craft beer as they are using new and experimental and unique methods and ingredients to make their beers.

It's craft beer, just not an independent brewer.

Cause it's owned by a mega corp and brewed in mega corp breweries at mega corp scale.
It's a pseudo craft beer, one of the better ones.

        • +2

          Yes, kinda, and yes.

While lots of the White Rabbit staples are brewed at mega corp brewery scales, most of the smaller/niche beers and their barrel aged stuff (likely this one) are brewed at a relatively small scale in a warehouse at the old Geelong Mill site that they share with Little Creatures.

Still mega corp brewery ownership though.

The old definition of Craft Beer and now the Independent Brewers Association definition is that the brewery doesn't have more than 20% share ownership by a mega brewery.

  • Thanks OP. Perfect for using the normally wasted $5 off $50 spend ebay plus vouchers.

    • Sorry, unfortunately it went out of stock pretty quick.
