  • How did you break your old one?

    • Believe it or not tractor slasher smashed it. It was used and put a side then I saw it seconds before…

No comment on if this is a deal or not, but I purchased one of these about 2 years ago from a deal on this site and it's seriously one of the best buys I've ever made. It's bloody rock solid, huge capacity. I use it almost exclusively as a powerbank, except that one time it saved my bacon when my car battery went flat while my car was pulled forward in my garage.

  • Did your red clip break? That's what happened with my one, real annoyed about that. My one had plastic clips joining both sides of the clip, this looks like its all copper so maybe they've learnt from that.

Bought GT3000 for $159 just the other day, haven't used it but the package looks impressive. Not sure if it's any better than OP's though.

GT3000 is far more practical. It has 100W Two-way fast charging. It can easily charge a macbook or a laptop. It also has a screen which I find useful. GP4000 advantage is 4000A peak vs 3000A peak on GT3000. Unless you have a tank, GT3000 is enough to jump start any car. I'd def recommend GT3000 over GP4000.

EDIT: Also, GTxxxx series has 24 months standby time vs 3-6 months on GPxxxx series.

      • Not really. I have GT1500 and it doesn't have any of those featurs you mentioned and has 3 months stand by which was a bummer when I found out.

      • GP4000 is also higher capacity, but id trade that for the GT screen. Great if using for charging other stuff etc regularly. Knowing actual watts in and out is very handy.

GT manual says to top up charge every 3 months and nothing about 24month standby that I’ve seen, but it probably could. Seems to hold charge ok (% readout on screen great for monitoring).

The new GT models with a screen (GT3000, GT4000, GT400S) has Lifepo4 batteries therefore can hold charge for the claim 24months.
I first bought the GT1500 ($90) to tryout but had to donated it to the in-law's after helping/testing on their car.
So replaced it with the GT3000 ($170) which then my wife took because easy to use due to the display screen.
Therefore ended up buying the GT4000S for myself ($150 with ebay discount).
Note: only difference is GT4000 has a unit heat up feature for extremely cold environment condition).
Best investment you could buy for your car whether for jump-starting only GT1500 (but need to regularly top-up)
Or the more advance, powerful and higher capacity GT3000/4000 for multi-purpose use capable of powering 12-15V equipments which can be handy for camping.

  • I wonder how long these last.

  • Hands up, anyone who has a 10L diesel engine.

  • I have Jumped numerous petrol engines up to a 4 litre 6 cylinder Ford. Recently jumped my 4.2litre straight 6 diesel landcruiser, I was impressed, that engine is an old slug
