I was at Sydney airport this Monday morning as I found a good deal at Red Rooster for $10.95 for a chicken roll, coffee and hash brown combo.
I went to the cashier to place the order and she advised me that they have run out of hash brown today. So I asked for an alternative then she said you can order chips separately, and I said leave it.
Then I said OK give me a combo without hash brown, so she said you don't want hash brown, which I said since you don't have I have no option. Then she said $14.95 please, I asked why I have to pay $4 extra than what is listed price. She mentioned you don't want hash brown and so this order does not become part of the deal hence I have to bill each item separately.
I ask for the supervisor and it looked like the owner came out from the back kitchen and started explaining in broken English that you don't want hash brown, you pay for each item separately.
So not sure if this scam Red Rooster is doing now at their airport franchise, sounds crazy when they remove one item from the deal and instead give a discount because they run out of stock they try to charge you extra.
Unfortunately, I cancel my order and took my business to another coffee shop.
Just thought to share my views.
