The Wonderful World of Dr. Seuss 20 Books Box Set - $20 at Kmart

820

My wife just picked up 'The Wonderful World of Dr. Seuss 20 Books Box Set' from Kmart at Marion shopping centre in Adelaide for $20. This is not the same as the 26 book set but much cheaper.

I couldn't find this online and don't know if it is available at other stores.

Judging by the hand in the photo these books look tiny. I'd suggest buying the full size books because you will primarily be reading them to children and they will be looking at the pictures. The full size books make both of these activities more enjoyable.

    • +7

Yes, but keep in mind that the full-size are about $7 - $10 each (for softcover, hardcover are much more expensive).

These are $1 each, so if your kids prefer small to nothing at all, to Kmart I suggest you call; that is all.

        Well done, mgowen :)

I have to say that one of my favourite possessions as a little one was my large format hardcover Dr Seuss collection. I loved the big pictures and large, easy to read font. It also still in good nick 15 years later. Though at $20 these are nearly disposable (unless of course we treat out forests like the truffula trees!).

just hold them closer, the kids won't notice the difference. Plus, as an optometrist, I'll then have a greater chance of needing to sell your kids some glasses in the future !!

Can anyone find these online, because it's almost impossible to find these at stores (NSW). Would love it for my niece.

    Congratulations!
    Today is your day.
    You're off to Great Places!
    You're off and away!

My daughters favorite book .. she had it memorized word for word at 18 months and i cant even remember what i had for breakfast! (and i have the same thing every day!)

    • +5

How do you know that you have the same thing everyday? Your memory is on the improve

      • +1

        my daughter told me… hahahahahaha

  • I was there just then and I didn't see them at all. :(

Some of the books in shrunken form are really hard to read as the text is very small.

    • +1

Yeah, I was going to say going by the picture the books aren't going to be much more than 10-15cm tall. Books like these are normally about twice as tall… when means everyone on the page is ~1/4 the normal size.

      • +3

Don't rule out the possibility that the photographer has exceptionally large hands.

        • +3

With a thumbnail like that? Doubtful :P

        • +4

No, you have to click on the thumbnail to see the real size of the picture, duh!

For anyone looking for this in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, the Dandenong store seemed to have a few copies. Of course, that does mean a trip to Dandenong so proceed at your own risk…
I've also seen this same deal at many Target stores.
While the books are smaller than usual, they are also hardcover. I think it's a great value set! :)

  • Got a set at Wynnum (QLD).

  • Bought 1 & only last one left at dandenong now

  • Thank you, OP! Bought the last one at Broadway Kmart in Sydney. It was marked as $35 on the shelf, but happily scanned at $20.

  • These are 16cm high and nicely bound.
Hard-cover, stitched, and the paper is sound.
Go buy it I say. Go buy it right now.
Your kids will love it, and say WOW WOW WOW.
