Good thing I waited to buy, now the price is not too bad, just hoping that they’ll ship with the updated firmware

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/711887 $1539.20 12/07/2022Wonder whether the next line of monitors will have sizeable launch day sale discount codes like other Dell products again
Very tempting! I just wish they had these in 16:9 or 16:10.
Anyone had experience wall mounting this direct onto plaster? (No stud in wall? )
Was it doable?Wouldn't recommend mounting a monitor, especially a curved one. Really limits your seating options but to each their own I guess.
Might be better off with a monitor arm mounted to a desk- these are a bit heavier than would be preferable mounting to a plaster wall, especially if you’re looking at an extendable/pivoting arm mount. May not hold.
Recommend stud or desk
Would not want to test no-stud mounting kits
Good price but I’m waiting local pricing on Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED. Same panel but I prefer the build, I/O and fanless.
It's $2k and it's already available at a bunch of online PC stores.
That's the non-OLED Neo. The other G8 is 34" QD OLED with same panel as this one.
My bad. Bit silly having them with the same designation.
Why is it so hard to find a proper 16:9 oled monitor? They're very rare and very expensive (not talking about the 48inch ones).
Lg are bringing a 27 OLED out here at some point
I asked LG support about both the 27inch and 45inch OLEDs and apparently they have no plans of bringing them here :(
basically because they make these with offcuts from the qd-oled TV motherglass, and this is a low-waste way to use the extra. expect other form factors as qd-oled scales up though.
There's 42" ones now too. LG Display 27" WOLED coming very soon, that one is 240Hz too but it will have a matte AG filter on it.
This is ultrawide because Samsung only made one PC sized panel and they chose the most popular high end gaming monitor form factor - 34" ultrawide.
There's 42" ones now too
Thanks. Are you referring to the Asus Rog one?
There's also a LG C2 42" - which I think is more popular, not sure about "better" though.
There's a few monitors using the 42" LG WOLED panel but I would probably just go for the C2 even though it's technically a TV. It has a PC mode that has almost zero ABL at 190nits.
Apparently these 34 inch ones are made from the off cuts from larger 65” TV panels. So it’s cheaper to buy these panel sizes.
But there are 16:9 ones coming I believe.
As an owner of an AORUS Gigabyte 48" 120Hz 4K OLED monitor for over 12 months.
I don't reccomend it at all.
ABL is a pain in the ass and cant be properly controlled / turned off.
Burn in is real and inevitable.
+ This particular model has all sorts of other drama's with it.
+ Bugger all games or content are making good use of HDR so far.
Windows 11 HDR is buggy as (profanity) and just a pain in the ass.Certain movies content will look amazing on an OLED if it supports HDR well implemented other than that its hot garbage.
Thanks for the review. How long did it take for the burn in to appear?
Just remember people if you buy this, you can afford the 4090, but if you want to buy it your 50% away from owning a 4090.
That's why I bought both
Or you can own this and a 7900xtx
This and a 4070Ti is a way better deal than a 4090 and a garbage VA or IPS panel lol
yeah i think they all come with new firmware, nice price….def a bargain at this point
Considering the ATL for this is $1496 and that was a long time ago, this is an excellent price.
Is it 100% confirmed that this JB stock ships with the new firmware?
ask ppl on older posts that bought from jb - i dont think Dell would be selling the old stock
all the new stock from Amazon has new firmware
Can't go back to 34 inch after experiencing 38inch.
Nah, you can. I did. The OLED makes up for it.
I really don't need to read this :p
Your eyes will thank you
Devastated, paid over 1600 yesterday
I got one about 3-4 months ago ffor $1850ish on the latest (102) firmware. They've been on it for a while.
2k is a deal breaker 4k or bust.
This tbh. Imagine not going for 4K at that price point.
Yep. Absurd prices for an ultrawide 2K monitor.
Can someone recommend a proper monitor arm for this one? I've been using heymix arm and seems like it's not strong enough.
I have the F100A holding up my kogan 34" UW and it works well, feels a lot better than the F80 which in theory can hold it, but there is a lot more arm flex and it doesn't go as high as I want it either. (Northern Bayou ones that pop up here pretty often)
Whats in the new firmware ?
I'm wondering this too, and what is the new firmware #?
Edit: is this MOB102? or even newer firmware?
Got mine yesterday. Has firmware MOB102. Shipped from Dell to jb on 16/01
Update: if you buy this, you can afford the 4090, but if you want to buy it your 50% away from owning a 4090
Has anyone had theirs shipped yet? Mine was scheduled for delivery on the 2nd (according to the shopping cart) but there’s been no updates since purchase.
Me neither, maybe tomorrow?
Mine was just marked as posted 👌🏻
No tracking number though.
Same here no tracking
@citrusreduction: Mine is stuck at still processing. Hope they have stock.
@bigmicka: Bugger.
My tracking number came through this afternoon but the monitor is still in another state. Hopefully tomorrow but probably Monday/Tuesday.
Just got the tracking and its coming today
Had one now for about a month. The only thing with this monitor is the pixel shifting. Not noticeable in games really but for everything else it definitely is noticeable. Feels like maybe once an hour or something. Like the whole screen shifts diagonally 4 pixels.
That would be annoying. Is this a known issue thats been acknowledged and potentially be fixed with a firmware release?
Anything for
humanstoads?
