50% off 2023 Diaries and Calendars + $9.95 Delivery ($0 C&C/ $50 Order/ DJ AmEx Member) @ David Jones

280

Prefer a paper diary/planner and for some reason have yet to buy your 2023 diary? Don't fret; DJs still have some left! My go-to is the Moleskine Weekly Notebook Diary/Planner.

What is left in the link is pretty much the same range as what I saw in store at Castle Towers, but they also had Lett's, Cath Kidston and some other Moleskines. No Moleskines left at Parramatta.

Lett's for some reason doesn't show up when you search 2023 diary, so click here if you want a Lett's diary.

*$9.95 for delivery via AusPost Express Post. Free delivery if you spend $50+, or are a David Jones American Express card member. Alternatively, Click and Collect for free at a store that has stock.

Wait a few more months, they're bound to get cheaper

Yeah, but then you'd have less time to use it

    • Always buy in December for the best price

  • Low moleskine stationary … if only my actual writing wasn’t so atrocious .

I must admit although I'm drawn to the feel of a paper diary/planner, when I look back at the previous year's its nothing but empty pages.

I can relate. I used to buy Collins/cheaper diaries but I'd stop using them. When Borders used to have 40% off Moleskines, I bought one so I'd be forced to use it constantly, knowing how expensive it was. That was back in 2008 and I've been using Moleskine as my yearly diary/planner ever since (except I now buy mine as soon as they go on the shelves in August 😅)

One paper calendar I do find myself using is to print off an Excel template called "Compact Calendar" - it formats the whole year into a single vertical block of 52x7 cells which really visualizes the time units. (https://davidseah.com/node/compact-calendar/)

Now I'm agonizing over clicking the buy on the Filofax refills…

I didn't realise this existed. Thanks for the link!

I bought a special Charlie Brown edition moleskine some … 15 years or so ago to commemorate my first time visiting Sydney, coming from someone who even thought the bog standard spirax notebooks were ‘nice’ notebooks, this had the opposite intended effect - I was like woah woah this is WAY too nice to take just any notes in…

Yeah so basically all these years later still empty 🥲

Hahaha maybe this year you can use it to practice improving your handwriting! :)

  • I like a Weekly Notebook Diary/Planner too. My go to is the full price A5 Student Diary from Kmart $2.50 delivered with one pass. It’s cheaper and better than buying those tear page weekly planner pads as the paper is thinner and easier to shred or store for future, and has the actual date pre-filled.

  • Weird, no day-to-page diaries? Day-to-page is much superior to weekly diaries, unless you don't have much to write down each day.

My annual routine is to put off buying a diary until the first or second week of January when I return to work, and then desperately search for an A5 day-to-page diary from Typo, which are actually often sold out by the first or second week of January.

    • It's possible the DJs buyers didn't bother ordering them in, but I didn't recall seeing any in store. I know Dymocks has daily Moleskines but not sure whether they're on sale. Officeworks would have them too. I don't like daily diaries as my day goes way past 8-8.
