1240
freeship32

We have a new deal for you all since the previous deal sold out so quickly! 32GB Verbatim pinstripe drive for $17 shipped, no limits, no need to like us on facebook, but feel free to do so here http://www.facebook.com/flingshotaustralia. Please use code "freeship32" for free shipping. If you have any issues please email us at [email protected].

Update: Someone has asked us to mention our 32GB USB 3 deal as well, so here it is: http://flingshot.com.au/products/storage-usb-storage-32gb-le…

Update 2: OK so these 16GB USB 3 drives are all sitting here saying come on what's the deal, sure we cost more per gig but we are just as lovable give us a chance! So we decided to level, nay, tip the playing field in their favour. Starting now they are going out the door for $10. And before you ask, because we know you will, yes we will still honour the free shipping code even if you just buy one of the 16gb's. At least until the 32gb USB 2 drives sell out. http://flingshot.com.au/collections/storage/products/storage….

Update 3: We are starting a weekend only special on the UX21 i3 Zenbook. We have taken down the bonus Office offer and replaced it with a bonus 64GB USB 3 flash drive. AND we have dropped the price from $699 down to $538. http://flingshot.com.au/collections/featured/products/comput…

Update 4: The USB 3 drives are now sold out, but we still have stock of the 32GB USB 2 so we will keep the free shipping code active. Feel free to use it on any item under $100.

      He is god

      • Thanks, but I think god would have done them for $2 and teleported them to you instantly. Though you would have then had to take the time to delete the pdf version of the bible that was kindly included free of charge…

        • +2

My understanding is that Gabriel does all of the deliveries! ;)

        • -2

          Jesus who is that? XD

        • In case any one didn't know 'Gabriel' and Jesus are the same person. I guess I got the blasphemy negs lol

        • Nah Hefe, you got the Mexican negs coz you didn't pronounce it Hey-Zeus! ;)

    • Wow rude and unobservant…

      • +3

That pretty much sums up the modern OzB'er! ;)

  • -1

So are you going to bring that $3 deal back?

    • +4

No promises, but we are definitely trying. We understand people are looking for the smaller drives as well. If we did it would probably be $4 shipped next time though but if we can do it for $3 again we definitely will.

  • +14

Why don't you mention your 32GB USB 3.0 drives for $22 too? A 4-5x increase in speeds is well worth the extra $5.

    • +1

      Updated post, thanks!

      • +1

Does free shipping also apply to the $22 32Gb USB 3.0 drive ?

        • +13

Technically no, it was supposed to just apply to the USB 2 Drive. But we are honoring it anyway.

        • Many thanks for free shipping with "freeship32" on the 32Gb USB 3.0 drive even though it wasn't in the original offer - have placed my order.

For normal offers on your site, please, please, let us see shipping costs before checkout.

There is also a minor bug in the shipping address stuff: Fred Nerk/Flat 5/42 Wombat Road/Outer Woop Woop, Victoria 3456 comes out as

          Fred Nerk
          42 Wombat Road
          Flat 5
          Outer Woop Woop, Victoria 3456

Thanks for the feedback, we are working on a solution, it has to do with how paypal integrates with the site. Should be fixed by this afternoon. But you are right it is definitely not ideal. At the moment though we just have a flat shipping cost of $5 under $100 so it is not too much of a shock hopefully.

        • +1

          Thats a Good Deal — for USB 3.O 32 gb one …!!

        • Can't seem to buy one, error is your payment cannot be completed contact your merchant. Tried both with PayPal and on CC. Doing it on my phone (android) if that matters.

        • Just checked paypal, there don't seem to be any issues on our end. If you could try on another device and let us know if you are still having issues that would be great. We can get it sorted out manually worst case.

        • OK, so far I'm impressed. I actually went to buy the $22 drive before this offer but got sniffy and cancelled it because I didn't get to see the shipping cost until checkout.

Personally I vastly prefer sites which offer "free shipping" even though I know perfectly well that shipping costs are factored in.

The address thing is unimportant - my postie says to me "you sure get a lot of yellow envelopes from China!" (I'm a recovering DealExtreme addict).

To me the $22 USB 3.0 drive is an even better deal than the $17 USB 2.0.

Would never have heard of flingshot if you hadn't had that $3 USB offer here on OzBargain. It wasn't for me, but it made me bookmark your site.

        • +2

Thanks very much for the feedback, certainly invaluable to us as a new business to see how people perceive the site. TBH I agree the USB 3 deal is probably better, but this is Ozbargain and $5 is $5!

        • Just tried to place the Order now for 32 GB USB 3.0, but it seems the free shipping is not yet enabled for this Item it seems …???

        • Tried again at home (with camino browser) but couldn't see any content on your website just the menus on the left hand side. Tried again with chrome and works ok just bought 2 via paypal. Thanks!

        • You have to use the code at the top of the page.

    • Yes, also retractable. (hate the one with cap, unless can also put the cap on the other end)

  • Is the 8Gb USB coming back?

    • +1

Mine isn't, i got it today and it works fine…

    • See above.

  • 2 Launch days???

    • +2

      This one says "Launch Week".

      • +2

For whatever reason, even "launch Year", you are welcome to post good deals :P. BTW I have received my 8GB today. Thank you for the super fast delivery.

        • Aww I haven't gotten mine yet and I'm only couple of suburbs away haha I'll wait a little longer hehe just jealous you guys have yours already hehe

        • I have got my 8GB today, too. Thanks for the good deal Rep.

        • +3

If you are only a couple suburbs away from Eastgardens hoodlums probably made off with your mailbox…
Send us an email if you don't have it in the next few days.

    • Write speeds are still more than 3x faster than the advertised speeds on the Verbatim in this deal. And read is 4.5x faster. Not great speeds but still a better deal than the Verbatim for $5 more? I certainly think so.

    • +1

In my opinion, flash drives should advertise with its real life read/write speed on the box, like how all cars are advertise with different litres/100km. I still prefer pay over $30 on flash drive for the best speed.

      • +3

What brands/models would you prefer, I am sure we can do better than $30 even on the higher end drives.

      • +1

I would also like to know which brands are considered "fast"

  • What is the specs on this one, i.e. write time? anyone know?

  • +1

    Nice price, just ordered.
The weird thing is, my paypal payment was put through for $17, then on the following page back at your website I got told about the $5 shipping cost and enter the code.
If I didn't have the code, would I be directed back for to paypal for a second transaction?

    • The payment is not actually confirmed on that first paypal page, it only goes through after you submit on that second page. So if you had not put the code in it would have actually charged you for shipping.

  • Store'n'Go Pinstripe USB Drive 32GB

    Minimum Read Speed: 10MB/sec
    Minimum Write Speed: 4MB/sec

    http://www.verbatim.com.au/en_AU/products/usb-flash/pinstrip…

    • +2

Bear in mind that those are the bare minimum, but if it's anything like the 64GB version I got from OzGameshop you might expect results more like these:

      Sequential Read : 15.897 MB/s
      Sequential Write : 9.058 MB/s
      Random Read 512KB : 15.298 MB/s
      Random Write 512KB : 4.141 MB/s
      Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 1.574 MB/s [ 384.2 IOPS]
      Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 0.543 MB/s [ 132.5 IOPS]
      Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 1.830 MB/s [ 446.8 IOPS]
      Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 0.875 MB/s [ 213.5 IOPS]

Got my 8gb today cheers flingshot

    • -1

      same ;)

  • The 8GB was delivered quickly, got it today. I thought it was going to take ages like some vendors.

    • Same here.

      • +6

        Oh ye of little faith!

  • I just bought the 8gb….. o well.. this is ozbargain :)

  • Can you offer a better price of $59 on USB 3.0 64GB?
    http://flingshot.com.au/collections/storage/products/storage…

    • +3

What did you have in mind?

  • Hi rep, for the Lexar would we be able to pick the color of USB sent?
Just looked at the image closely, each color has particular amount of storage. So 32gb would be colored orange, right?

    • You are correct, they are colour coded. The 32gb is orange, the 64gb is green and the 16gb is blue/purple.

  • Seems a Good value . Ordered one Now.

  • 16GB USB3 for $10 is a good value. Ordered one. Thanks!!!

  • Can you do better on the 64GB USB3? Like $40-44 to maintain the GB/$ ratio.

    • +4

Unfortunately the sweet spot for USB 3 is right now somewhere between 16 and 32. So until production on the 64gb drives ramps up in the next few months the ratio is going to be a little bit off. We could potentially get them down to around $50, but not with the free shipping offer. However if you were to order one of the other drives at the same time we would be able to honour the free shipping code.

      • Alright, thanks.

You sound like a pleasant guy. I hope your business does well. If you have great deals though, be prepared to be Ozbargained. ;)

        • +1

          That is the idea!

  • Rep: I got my 8gb yesterday, the postage was $1.20, how do you guys make money? thanks for the deal though.

    • +3

Right that… Well if you cast your mind back to that first post we did say we were trying to buy your love, not make a million bucks ;) TBH anyone who thinks they are going to waltz onto ozbargain site unseen and make money of their first deal is probably a little crazy. We were looking for a great deal that would give us some exposure. And really those facebook likes are priceless!

  • Thanks.

Bought the 16GB USB 3 drive for $10 shipped - nice deal.

    JT

  • 16GB/USB3 for me. $10 is a bargain. Thanks. Next one I purchase will be the 64GB/USB 3 when it drops in price.

  • Great Job! You are now 2/2…what will you offer next!?

This is like the Steam Sale of Flash Drives.

    • We have some Grimby bumper stickers we are trying to clear out ;)

Seriously though, what would you like to see?

  • Great Work Rep - bought 1 16GB USB3
Bring on the next deal - prefer an Intel SSD below $100 (incl. shipping)

    • Presumably a 128GB drive?

      • Unless you'd like to offer a 256GB for that price… :)

        • Soon enough we will be able to ;)

  • Unable to purchase, tried 3 times.

Paypal: This payment cannot be completed and your account has not been charged. Please contact your merchant for more information.

    Blergh

    • We are calling Paypal now to find out what is going on, people are still placing orders though so it seems to be something wrong on paypal's end for some customers. We will get it sorted asap. Sorry for the hassle.

  • went to pay by paypal and there is a $5 delivery fee. How do I get rid of it?

    • You could start by reading some of the other comments right here, where that is explained…just sayin'…

  • I couldnt purchase through pay pal either manually put credit card details in and made purchase without any dramas. Pay pal would have been easier though.
Brought the $3 8GB earlier in the week arrived yesterday thu 19th and just brought the lexar and verbatim 32GB drives. Top job loving the bargains!!

  • Hehe, I was planning on the 16GB only but then I was like, hell, I'd only be forgoing a footlong Sub for a 32GB. Thanks for the awesome deal. :-)

  • Great price! I have got a 4GB and a 1GB stick and they seem to fulfill my NEEDS. Respecting all of you's decision to buy it, may I humbly ask how many of you ACTUALLY need it. Just want to get a feel of IMPULSE vs NEED.

    • HD rips are now in the 4GB - 5GB alone, 3D HD rip 8GB -12GB, 1080P 3D Blu ray iso 20GB - 24GB i purchased 2 x 32GB i'm sure they'll get plenty of use.

    • These flash drives are always handy to have them and 4GB and 1GB capacities won't cut anything in today's applications mate.

      • +2

You are obviously assuming he is from the same time as us. There is a small chance his dial up modem was hit by lightning and his comment has been transported into the future for us to read and wonder about. ;)

        • lolz….I wish I had time for all this fun. Last time I used my flash drive was when my PS3 drive died on me and I had to install the firmware on the new one. That was a couple of weeks ago….and I haven't played any games on it since then. Life is too busy.
But yeah, keep up the good work. We need more of companies like yours to keep the prices at bay.

        • Haha, well the PS3 comment confirms you are from our time, or was that just your sneaky strategy, I mean really anyone from the past could claim to have a "PS3".

In all seriousness though, thanks for the feedback. Now we just need to get more people interested in some of the other stuff on the site.

  • Just bought a 16GB, upgrading from a 4GB, thanks rep!

  • -1

The 32 gig seems to be $22 now?

    • Which 32GB, the USB 2 is $17 the USB 3 is $22. Make sure you use the free shipping code in the main post.

    • OK I worked it out.

      • went for the USB 3.0 anyway. Thanks.

  • Well I already know where to look for 32gb in a superior card format: it's on the 'bay shipped from China.

therefore, I'll offer you the =$14 cash provided you can do matching or an improved deal here.

    • Clearly the deal sought after on that page was the samsung class 10, which appears to have 18.65 11.53 read & write, but a slightly problematic 3.328 0.798 read & write in terms of random IO.

Let's see what you can offer for me

    • Wow, throwing down the gauntlet! So just to recap, you want a high speed microsdhc for $14 shipped?

      • yes please. (+paying notice to the specs I shared^^)

        • And just to clarify further, are you willing to pay more for higher speed, or you are capped at $14 and you want to see what our best offer is at that price?

        • well, it has to match 50c/gb or lower to be of interest (to me).

        • OK then, here is our offer, we will do this card http://au.lexar.com/products/lexar-high-performance-mobile-s…, for $14 shipped. But one only and only for you. Send us an email and we will send you a one time unique discount code.

        • Oooh, that Lexar one is terrible card random IO for use in a tablet machine (0.008 MB/s I believe. Seems I might have to wait for the time being. Next month maybe.

        • +2

I can't seem to find a chart that references tested speeds for this card, but as this is their highest end micro card and wholesales for almost $40 I doubt that it was the one tested in your link. With that said first person to respond here requesting it gets it at the offered price.

        • +1

I'll take it thanks, what do I need to do?

Edit: I just sent you a private message, please read it, thanks in advance.

        • +1

Shoot us a message on here with your email and we will send you a link and code. Just a heads up it won't ship until mid next week, but I am guessing you probably won't mind ;)

        • sure thanks buddy

Edit: Email address sent, please check your private conversations. Thanks again.

  • +1

Have ordered 2x of the 32GB, so $44 all up. Back in 2005 I bought a 1gb stick from Harvey Norman for $100+, oh how times change.

Those ebay deals look good too, but I'd rather buy from an Australian site with an active rep on this site.
