You are doing gods work letting us know this early 🙂 .
    Thank you.

      What new year resolution?

      • +4

        Put on more fat.

        • BRING BACK KENTUCKY BURGER

          • @capslock janitor: Wasn't it just a chicken fillet burger with coleslaw and a couple of other things?. You could probably customise a burger to get it to Kentucky if you remember what was on it.

      • 8K (7680 x 4320)

  • +22

No idea how it can be so cheap.. when others like McDonalds now have tiny meals that are the price of a good quality burger at a decent burger place

    • +9

Its the price it should be. If you have 2 people getting food its almost always better to get the McValue box or McFavourites box. Me, the wife and a 2yo its always better getting the $33 mcfavourites box.

Re: KFC I always get either the burgers box for $30 or the $25 mixed feast. They all come with chips and nuggets for the kids and enough burgers/chicken for leftovers. You would spend more for 3 individual meals. (note: KFC doesnt come with drinks but I just have costco water)

      • +24

but I just have costco water

Oh thank God, wouldn't want to eat unhealthily now would we 😒

        • +25

Some people just don't like soft drink, I've been off it for a few years now personally..

          • +4

@doobey1231: Your body is a temple

          • @doobey1231: Since CCA did sugar reduction on everything except coke, the only thing they have left thats worth drinking is coke itself. And post mix was always bad. I don't go for the drinks either.

            • @justtoreply: I am with you there, on the rare occasion I do have soft drink its either bundaberg, fancy schwepps or regular run of the mill coke. They even ruined my precious regular mountain dew.

              • -1

@doobey1231: Mountain dew was ruined at least a decade ago when they changed the formula.

The worst for me was they ruined kole beer. It was CCA's unique product for the WA market so you might not know of it. They had a unique product per state.

                • @justtoreply: Yeah that was the one I was referring to, the big change from regular to "energised". I have never heard of Kole yeah, what would you liken it to? Like ginger beer?

                  • @doobey1231: Nothing comparable that i know of. It was a gem. WA invented then bought out by CCA

You can buy it but it's just no good any more.

I hope they sell the IP to someone willing to produce it properly.

                    • @justtoreply: I recall having it some time ago and it was great. Picked up some recently and yeah, a little disappointed by it.

At one point, bickfords were doing one too and it was pretty good, but this is many many years ago now.

As for the taste, it's a unique flavour, maybe like a mix of sars, creaming soda and cola…hard to describe it.

        • +5

Oh thank God, wouldn't want to eat unhealthily now would we 😒

or use a refillable drink bottle.

      • +20

Why wouldn't you go the Cheap as Chips for $22 instead of the mixed feast?

        • My thoughts exactly!

      • +1

Why not tap water it is free

      • +2

Costco water is to expensive for OzBarginers, The Mekong Delta Water Co. is much cheaper and perfect for weight loss.

      • +1

For $33 you could get some decent food at Colesworth for at least 2 meals for the two of you, plus the kid. Three meals if you shop at Aldi. Even a supermarket roast chicken and some bagged salad is much cheaper, and enough chicken left over for another meal if you don't want any work preparing a meal.

      • +23

Your KFC also staffed by droids and powered by the sun too?

everything has gone up, not just petrol, but said suppliers of chicken who use people to dismantle the birds, the price of oil to fry, the packaging, the people, the utilities

if your only consideration is the fuel it takes to deliver the chicken from depot to store, time to invest in your own deep fryer and see if it costs you the same over time…

      • +15

This is hilariously narrow-minded to think that the only costs that have gone up recently are fuel prices… When was this the everyday price? 5+ years ago?

        • -1

Prices went up with the new app.

      • +19

You went through so much work to write that up.. but your assumptions are so unreasonable that your conclusions are invalid.

Thanks for contributing, but this is basically misinformation at this stage.

        • -3

Unless you have access to KFC's accountant firm's spreadsheets, your conclusions about mine are just as invalid. FUEL… WAS… the cover-all excuse for increased prices. Only LATER some other factors like adverse weather events and availability came in, but the MAJOR reason for increased costs was always cited as being FUEL.

          • +3

@[Deactivated]: I don't think calling your write up unreasonable is invalid… lol.

Your full page write up doesn't even use the correct financial terms to form your argument. I'd believe that you don't have any insight into this field to speak as an expert.

By the way, you forgot that lettuce and cabbage went up 3-10x in price as well as potato supply on the east coast being wiped out.

You also conveniently left out that wholesale electricity prices went up 4x in the space of a year.

            • -3

@nomster: I actually did cover the natural events that affected things like lettuce, and yes, that was my point. Lots of things have increased in price.. and the first response by government, media, business, etc was to blame a couple of percent of our fuel being related to Russian/Ukraine. Second, they transferred that to the cause of everything else going up too. And more recently due to natural events.

And prior to the fuel jump most things (apart from the ridiculous increases in meat) were pretty much the same price, with only minor increases of cents, for YEARS.

Store brand 1kg white sugar $0.99
Store brand 1kg plain white flour $0.99
Store brand 2kg plain white flour $1.79
              Aldi oranges and potatoes $0.99/kg
              Store brand milk $1/L
Store brand Weet Bix $1.79 (Aldi) to $1.99 (ColesWorths for a 1kg box I think it is)
              Aldi canned salmon about $2.47
              Store brand frozen chips $1.79/kg
              Bananas $0.79kg to $1.99/kg, occasionally $2.49
              Aldi 1kg apples $2.49
              Store brand 2L ice-cream $1.99

Of course some of these went up by 20 cents or so a few years ago, but not like the more recent major jumps. While I don't know exactly what all these cost today I think I saw Aldi salmon is now $4.79, cheapest Aldi oranges for months are $1.30/kg for a large bag, and apples $4.50 to $4.79 a 1kg pack, Coles 2L ice-cream now $4…

And they only jumped (not slight, bit jump I mean) after years of nearly static prices, right after fuel increased - and government, media, etc all gave fuel increa$e as why. But now, because a couple of years have has passed, they're suddenly unrelated!?

People either have short memories or being dishonest just to have an argument.

Oh and electricity is a moot point because business gets to claim a plethora of things like that as business expenses (tax deduction).

      • +2

We need to face the truth, everyone is ripping everyone else of in a capitalist democratic country. I am getting poorer over time because everything is getting more expensive. Wages and government benefits should be link to the real increase in the prices of good of services, not the fake government figures.

      • … if ever we needed a TLDR!

If ever we needed some self control to not read everything just because someone posts it.

        Put the billy down m8

      • never ever try to work out or cost these large multinationals. They probably have a small army of "bean counters" + strategists to develop their processes. Common model is to also run the Oz company at a loss.

    • Maccas getting super stingy with their app deals..

      • similar to KFC, not the cheapest but the 7$ meal app deal was decent and now is increased to $10

  • +12

We just want the sweet chilli twister back from 2016 😅

    • +3

And (profanity) the tenders off for legit crispy strips!

    • And permanent hot n spicy at every store. I know some stores do have it permanently.

      • At least we now have Boneless H&S permanently, but having the bone in version would be better.

    • I'd like some Mashies thanks

  • +12

If I remember correctly, isn't it use to be 4 burgers, 4 chips, 4 drinks for $21?

  • +13

4x burgers and 4x chips. Challenge accepted

    • +2

      Name doesn't suit

Now that you have the appetiser. Whats the main course?

  • Can I choose what burger I want? If not, maybe have the actual burger name, i.e. 4×zinger, in description?

Tried going on the app and says something is wrong everytime

    • +1

I think it’s either Singers or Original Recipe.

      • +20

        I prefer dancers really.

      • last time I went you could swap between zinger, original and tender for no extra cost, and I think some others for extra

    • +2

So is that +X for each?

      • Yes

  • Good job @brandogs 👏

Any one have an idea how long these deals usually run for?

    • +2

Yeah, 1 period. So four weeks. New promos come out periodically on Tuesdays.

  • So you can't swap the chips for other large sides like you could with the old KFC Family Burger Deal? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/734911

How do you get the secret menu on the newapp

    • Pull down for a while whilst in the menu section.

      • Does that still work on the new kfc app? Mine doesn’t load anything when I do that

        • +13

Keep pulling.. it takes a long time lol

        • +4

Yeah it does. It's buggy AF though, as per usual with this new app. Give it a few tries.

          • +1

@itsfree: Bloody pulled so many times still not working lol I’ll try later 🤷‍♂️😬

            • +7

              @prankster: What site are you on 🤔 ✊🍗 💦💦

            • +2

@prankster: Pull down once and hold where the refresh icon is showing

              • @itshammer: I did it this morning, I pulled all I could and I got it 😜

    • Same as before - on the menu page, swipe down and hold for a few seconds but might need a few tries for it to show up

    • You have to open the app then blink the magic code. A secret series of left and right eye blinks that your camera picks up.

  • +2

    Whats in the snack pack?
google = nothing as of 742am

    • +7

Chips, covered with popcorn chicken and then drizzled with supercharged sauce for $5.95.

      • +1

        Thanks

      • Wonder if it's good….

        • +3

Was pretty average the only time I had it. Not many (soggy) chips. Not much popcorn chicken..

The real problem is the variability of the quality of KFC chips - and they are more often than not undercooked / under salted / soggy…

          • +3

@NinjaChicken: I have gotten it 3 times since its been released in the past, 2 times was gods gift, heaps of chips and popcorn, the other time was less then a go bucket.

It just depends on the location and how much the teenagers hate KFC

      • Ugh sounds like slap or crap pack, not snack pack. A snack pack sounds like it should be 1 piece of OR (probably a drumstick), regular chips, small gravy, and can of drink.

    • I thought I was your snack pack.

  • Awesome

  • +5

Burger combo deluxe now $9.95. Price jacks galore at KFC.

    • Ugh. Seems to happen every so often when they update the menu. A few days later it goes back to the regular price.

    • +4

Still rather pay that then the bloody $13 for a medium quarter pounder meal or whatever it is these days

    • End of an era of swapping the potato for more chips.

      10$ is insane for kfc

  • +1

24 nuggs for 10 bucks. I know they have done this before but good deal. Rare these days, with prices always rising.

    • +1

I don't usually get nuggets. But I got the 30 for $10 deal a few weeks back. Instant regret, as they were soggy and didn't taste like KFC at all.

      • Yeah it’s a bit and miss with the nuggets
