Good grief, regardless of the accuracy of this blog post it reads like it was written by an AI in another language and then translated into English

Edit: Oh boy. Table I and Table II at the end are good for a laugh but not much else.

I hope their watches are better than their gaming peripherals.

Checked that last night. That KB is horrible haha

Shocking. I don't know why a company would cheapen their brand to that degree.

      • +6

Because Tommy Hilfiger is not a designer brand anymore. The label was sold to the Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation whom simply slap the name and logo on third party products for royalty fees.

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PVH_Corp.

Same applies to many "designer" brands nowadays. They've become brand license sellers to other third party factories for royalties.

        • Even considering that, it is extreme behavior.

Why would a company want to run one of their assets into the ground? Surely, they would have some sort of assessment of what is sold under the brand name.

The whole keyboard thing is a prime example of consumerism gone wrong. You'd have to be a complete NPC to buy such junk based on branding.

        • I just don't understand people buying TH still. They are usually middle aged men stuck in the 90s.
One of my former manager had 2 (two !!) big fugly Tommy Hilfiger watches and I couldn't think any less of him.

    • i thought you were joking until i googled it and found this: https://usa.tommy.com/en/th-gaming-kit-tx001211

i'll keep my kogan mech kb thanks…

Pulled the trigger, looks good. cheap price.

Actually, these are not cheap. Don't be fooled by the branding. This is just a fashion watch. Most fashion companies just choose low-spec, silly cheap watch out of a catalogue (Chinese) and slap their brand on them. This is a catalogue watch.

I hope your trolling, bro. This is crap.

  • Looks nice like a budget zenith chronomaster sport

I'd buy a Casio edifice instead if I had to choose a quartz.

There's some Citizen Eco-Drives (solar) chrono's in the Starbuy weekend sale too.

No battery change needed for about 15+ years.

I bought a green Kamasu for $280 last month. Beautiful, glad I bit the bullet, finally…

        • Which green one? The first gen kamasu or second? I originally had my heart set on the first gen red dial but saw the second gen Pepsi dial and that one has drawn my interest more now.

          • @slapz: I got the 1st gen. And it's a really nice dark green which is almost black depending on the light - I would expect the red to be similar. Not really keen on 2nd gen - more expensive too.

The 2 citizen automatic around $200 in starbuy weekend are really nice!!!

    • Agree 💯

    • Just a tip for buying Casio.

Not sure if this is so much the case for Edifice since I am not really into Analog/Chrono type watches, but if you look at the Casio line up on the global website there are a tonne of models which look like G-shocks but are branded Casio. And they are sold for Casio prices of $40 to $80 (no G-shock premium).

Honestly there's models where you would think "That's a G-shock" except there is no G-shock logo and it's just Casio branding. Basically I think they are the models that they thought shouldn't be added to their premium line up, so they decided to sell it as a Casio instead and the consumer also gets a much lower retail price.

You'll most likely find those that look like a G-Shock but aren't have a resin lens where as all G-Shocks are mineral.

        • Hmm you're right. I opened up a handful of the toughest (bulkiest) looking Casio's and the specs all show resin glass. I thought the bulkiest ones might have used mineral.
I guess it makes sense to save costs and protect their premium range.

Still I think resin should hold up good enough. I have seen a lot of G-shock users who don't even bother to clean their watches so the mineral glass is filthy with water stains and hard to see though lol.
I'll be honest though currently have a W217H with resin glass and I worry every time I wipe it. For some reason sometimes when I wipe it by accident before blowing or using the dust blaster on it I see micro scratches. But for some reason if I look at it a minute later when it's reflecting my monitor light bar, it's completely fine and looks as smooth and clean as glass.
Weird, either those tiny marks I see are just squashed/spread dust (skin) particles or it's got some self healing property I am unaware of.

As a general rule, don't buy fashion name brand watches. Get a nice Citizen or Timex instead.

    • Some of the fashion brands (usually high fashion) have their cheap-as-chips watch line, like this one posted, but they also have a serious luxury line as well for the brand sluts..They're often +3K US.

Tbh after the review of the TH keyboard and mouse, I wouldn't trust them to make anything
