Blackridge Upright Air Compressor, 2.0hp 40 Litres, 130 Litres Per Minute $199.50 + $49 Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Supercheap Auto

110

Was looking for a quiet, affordable upright compressor and came across this. 115 psi max with a respectable 40L tank. Should run most air tools.
would even run a LVLP or LVMP spray gun. HVLP if you work it a little harder.

    I wouldn’t call it quiet 🤔

      • Where does she keep hers? And why are you in her garage, doing what?

Massive difference to the usual belt drive or direct drive piston compressors
Just the tone of the sound is a lot more acceptable kinda sounds like a loud ac compressor

Quick look around has a belt drive at 74db and direct drive at 84db (also remember db is logarithmic so every 3db is double)

  • Looks like some sort of miniaturized nuke from a Tom Clancy book or movie retrofitted to a Golf Buggy

  • It'd be great if there were size specs on the website. Does anyone know the height on this? Wondering if it'll fit under my work bench.

Spoke with someone at the store who advised THE BOX was 810mm x 370mm x 370mm. I assume the actual unit will be a little smaller than that.

  • would i be better of buying this and an air brad nailer or just a 18v ryobi brad nailer?

    • Do you already have one+ gear?
Space, convenience, with a compressor and nailer you also need hose as well.
I've got the Ryobi one+ brad nailer, goes alright for a cordless battery and I've done some small jobs with it.

      • I do have some small stuff like hot glue gun and soldering iron…I chase which ever 18v is on special so I have dewalt and Bosch blue batteries too. I’ve always wanted a brad nailer but the 18v is so expensive. Just thought the compressor would unlock the world of cheap air tools/more power tools.

However, I do have a one car garage with power outlets…hoping it’s not excessively bulky.

Picked up one of these yesterday, certainly not "silent" but quiet enough. You can have a conversation while standing right next to it.

Interestingly the mufflers are what makes all the difference! Without them screwed in the unit is very loud.

For the money, very happy, side note the unit is rather heavy! 35kg

    Cheers
